Biggest Loser Bull
[rant]
So I just caught a snippet of The Biggest Loser. They were having what they called a masterclass and had a doctor talking about carbs. I would have been nice if I had actually learnt something but I didn't expect the doctor to be at times full of it and overly simplistic to say it kindly.
Some choice quotes were...
While holding a bowl of white crystalline powder "this isn't sugar, this is glucose".
And when describing oats "oats aren't just carbs, they contain other things including fibre, and starch"
Why do I feel like sometimes they reinforce the stereotype that overweight people are also stupid.

It's curious isn't it how poor these sort of programs are yet they rate very highly. Would have been better if Food investigators on SBS was this popular a few months ago when it was airing.

That doesn't mean a person getting on TV with qualification meaning he should know better, blatently lies to the audience.

was it a product plug? They have to bend and stretch for their sponsors, but you can usually spot the insincerity.
