Sunshine, Food, Beer & Bike :-) Pics

Ok, so most of the pics are not riding related, but sometimes it is not all about the bike or the ride. The whole weekend has be taken into account. Had an insanely stressful week, with angry customers, inept employees and backstabbing peers. Got home on Friday, reached into the fridge in the garage and pulled out the opening act to this so far great weekend. From there it just got better. Below tells the story and I hope your weekend has been equally great.

Friday, 5 PM - Let the Weekend Begin

Friday, 7 PM After shaking off the bad week, I decided to throw together a homemade pizza of fresh mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes, portabella shrooms, fresh garlic and loads of spinach. The washdown was a Magic Hat #9 and a Bluegrass Brewing Co, Amber.

Saturday, 9 AM: Ok, finally some biking. Hit my favorite local single track park in Jackson, MO. A grand total of 7 miles of single track and 11 miles to and from the park. (this is a pic from back in the fall).

This was from today. Very muddy but a fantastic ride. I never get tired of riding this park. The dips, drops and switch backs, along with the mud make me smile. Makes me feel alive.

Saturday, 12 PM: After the 18 miles, a noon refueling was in order. Flying Dog "Old Scratch" Amber Ale and Fish Tacos.

Saturday, 8 PM: And Finally, the evening ends with Sea Scallops, Grilled Asparagus, Sauteed Baby Red Potatoes with Mushrooms and a the swill was Pere Jacques Belgium Ale

Come on, admit it. The beer and fish tacos after the ride looked awesome. Like I said. It ain't all about the ride for me. The food, the beer & and bike were all part of the ride for me. One without the other would not have been nearly as good

Agreed. Yesterday I rode 60mi 30mi of which was into a strong headwind, it felt good to chow down when I got home. And yes those fish tacos look awesome. So does the beer.

I was a distance runner in High School and the best part was always the food. Now that I have traded in my running shoes for a road bike, the food is still the best part.

Oh man, that looks GOOD. I was in SoCal a week ago, and the entire time all I wanted were some good fish tacos. Got plenty of hauty-tauty french food and other stuff, but still haven't gotten a good set of Fish tacos.

Dang you, Jay, now i'm hungry

Hmmmm, never had a fish taco but I have to admit they looked good in the photo. Oh yes, a good brew after a ride is quite rewarding. The more full bodied, the better.

I can't tell if those fish tacos are the most disgusting or most awesome things I have ever seen.
