Week 14: 184 Week 15: 186 - WRONG Direction!! So why have I been slacking off I guess a bunch of things. I have been on a new project and not great access to a car and no easy Subway to walk to thats open at night. But there is one down the street I could walk to for lunch and keep it on hand for dinner. So I really can do anything theres a way. Also have been alone a lto at home (I guess I amno longer with the new guy) ... I have just been lazy and indulgent. I am a Food Addict and if I just say f%&K it I will eat all sorts of cr*p. I have to work at not eating. And it is so much easier to eat. OK so that said 3 pounds is a huge gain considering I rode 60 Miles on Saturday and ran 3 on Sunday. There is no food I should eat unlimited and lately I have been doing that. Ok I will spare you all the details. But hey lets get this weight loss party started!! Monday Combat Class 45 minutes and run to/from the Y (1.7 miles) Breakfast Slim Bagel, pnut butter, diet coke Lunch Salad ,snack V8, snack V8, dinner 2 boxes cereal and apple bar, diet coke. 208.6 -- finally made in under 210! I just keep plugging away at it, a little at a time.
Riding this week was really good. My students wanted to have the last class of the year (yes, the block ends early -- it's a weird schedule) at a diner. The diner part was OK, but the location was tricky: only 5 miles from my house, but up several substantial hills. Don't trust Google bicycle directions yet -- they sent me up a path in a local park that was equal parts cobblestones, gravel, mud, and steepness. I'm also increasing my long weekend ride as I get ready for my first metric century next month. |
just wanted to say good luck to everyone this week but i'm gonna get this weeks prize:) well i better had with the work i'm putting in:)

272.5-lbs on Monday (up from last week), 271.4-lbs today (down a lil bit) but Monday is the official day so that gets used for better or worse. Judging by the daily chart on the Wii fit plus, I see now that I'm on a new plateau. My plans are to try to ride more and switch up my bikes and the type of riding I do. Of course also try to eat less and ride off the edge of this plateau. Work stress is high right now, re-orginizatin in the mix, and I don't know where (or if) I'll fit into the grand scheme of things. I do know I have a stronger skill set then when I took this job, and on-the-job experience that I didn't have, so that's a good thing. I have to learn to live in the flux and hopefully just ride it all out.
Week 2 - 295 lbs (start) Week 3 - 291.5 lbs Week 4 - 284.4 lbs Week 5 - 282.5 lbs Week 6 - 280.2 lbs Week 7 - 281.3 lbs Week 8 - 282.0 lbs Week 9 - 280.0 lbs Week 10 - 278 lbs Week 11 - 279.5 lbs Week 12 - 274.3 lbs Week 13 - 272.7 lbs Week 14 - 271.8 lbs Week 15 - 272.5 lbs |

Well one more week down and one more pound gone. I am now at 200lbs, I'm hoping by this time next week to be a clyde no longer. Started boxing day 2009 at 240lbs was 231 at start of year. It's been a good ride, I was aiming for 200 by June 5th the first day of back to back centuries. Looks like I made it. I'm now gunning for 190lbs by that time. The weather is really starting to get nice and the miles will soon be adding up, therefore the weight should continue to drop. I will have to force myself to gym once a week to maintain some muscles on upper body.

Not exactly a new contest, but certainly a new week with a new post. Welcome aboard!
I'm thinking this will be good motivation (and comraderie) for me to drop the weight I need to drop. |
Okay, so here's the scoop. I weighed myself this morning and came in at 235.4 pounds or 16.81 stones. No, I'm not from the UK but I like the sound of 16.81 stones versus 235.4 pounds. Reality check - I am not happy that I weigh what I weigh but I truly thought it would be more. I have been unemployed since October 1, 2009 and haven't exactly been the most active since being laid-off. So, while I'm not happy with my weight I am pleasantly surprised it isn't more.
For whatever reason, I am a person who can put weight on rather rapidly. When I graduated from high school in 1983 I weighed 175 pounds. Prior to that (from my freshman year to my junior year) I fluctuated between 220 pounds and 275 pounds - I know because I was weighed fairly consistantly for high school sports. By the time my freshman year of college was over I weighed 225 pounds. A few short years later, when I got married in 1986, I weighed 275 pounds. In November 1991, when my son was born, I weighed 400 pounds - I know because I was weighed on a freight scale when I was in the hospital for kidney stones. I lost a significant amount of weight after that November 1991 hospital stay and hovered around 300 pounds in 2001. I really adopted portion control and became greatly aware of "what" I was eating on a daily basis. By changing "what" I was eating and by becoming more conscience about eating only when I was really hungry I lost another 65 pounds. I have hovered around 225 to 245 pounds for the last few years. This may sound silly but I was encouraged by the fact that I had lost enough weight that I had to have my wedding resized by two full sizes. Anyway, I weigh 235.4 pounds. I want to weigh 175/180 pounds again. I don't know if that is doable (I was INCREDIBLY active with football, wrestling and track the last time I weighed 175 pounds) but less than 200 certainly is. I look forward to being a part of this challenge - encouraging and being encouraged - and for all of us to reach our weight loss goals together. Rob |
welcome rob:) hope you get the motivation you need from here to drop the weight. i'm also aiming for about 200lbs so good luck with it.
i didn't do half as well as i thought i would - after the 7 days on the bike and watching my diet i still put on .2kg. i know its only 200 grams but i was expecting to lose a few kgs:( ah well keep it up and it'll come off eventually:) roll on next week. |
