Saddle recommendations under 60?

Looking for a comfortable saddle under 60.00. Yes, I know everyone is different, but let me hear some opinions!

I rode my dads Nashbar F1 ? (I think.. i'll check the model.) the other day, and it felt good, but I didn't go far, the cut out definitely relieved some pressure, so would prefer something with a cut out.

Lets hear it!

the Specialized BG series is a good place to start. most Specialized dealers have a seat gauge to test fit the right seat for you....I would say most are in the $60.00 range you wantto be in

Low-end BG Fit saddles might be in the $60 range. High-end saddles like the Toupe, Phenom, Romin, Alias, Avatar, etc. are $100+ depending on what options you get. Specialized does make lower-end saddles, and they've started to put the "BG" label on everything now, but the quality just isn't the same IMHO.

I, personally, wouldn't focus too much on the cut-out. In my experience, they don't necessarily make a huge difference. For budget saddles, I really like WTB (e.g. Rocket V)...

best bang for the buck saddle I have tried is the Bontrager SSR saddle, A 25.00 saddle was surprisingly comfortable + it was firm with a slight amount of padding and wider at 155mm..

It ALL depends on your 'sit-bone width' -- I'm kinda wide, so the BG Milano works for me. About $40.

Terry Liberator Y (non-gel version). It cost me ~$55 and is very comfortable.

Holds up to winter weather commuting, too!

I took a spin on a friends Selle San Marco Ponza Friday and it felt nice, and ironically the next day found one on craigslist about 5 minutes from my house for 20.. sounded like a sign to me! Did a 40 mile ride yesterday on it and I'm a little sore but not even close to as bad as my old saddle.

I'm pretty level, just 1 notch tilted down (not much).. so I may go one more notch and see if that cures my little bit of soreness. Might just need to get used to it too.

Real good ride yesterday, my body feels less beat up all around and I think a lot of that is the new saddle.

Mine is the green one up front.

Try the discount bin at your LBS. There might be something perfect for you that is "used" but only for a few minutes.
Just a thought.

Be careful of tilting the nose too far down. You end up sliding forward and pushing yourself back with your hands/arms which can lead to wrist pain and hand numbness. Most people prefer the saddle level or slightly nose up (a very broad generalization there).

I'll try going a little more level then. My shoulders were tight this morning.

Now if I could figure out why my right foot (drive side foot) likes to go numb in the toes after about 25 miles. I switched from cages to power grips (just a strap that you slide into) and that seemed to help a little.. but its loose and I have room to move in my shoes. I can't figure it out.

Another great choice for a saddle would be the re-issue of the Selle Italia Turbo Saddle.. Back in the 80's-90's most people rode some version of this saddle.

Most people seem to like the BG, Terry, and WTB saddles. Which ones are personal choices. I have a BG Sonoma on my commuterized MTB. Don't remember how much it cost, but I think it was around $30.

+1 for the Charge Spoon, you can even get titanium rails for about $60 if that kinda thing matters to you.
