undercarraige issues

this one is for the men out there:
To make a long story short, my legs have seen a significant increase in diameter over the past several months which is leading to a lot of contact between man parts and thighs.

I have developed a rash that just won't clear up, I have taken almost a week off from cycling but I just can't seem to get this rash to clear up.

I really really want to get back in the saddle, but every time I ride even for just five minutes I get a significant amount of skin irritation.

I have been doing research into a new saddle and I am ready to order a new brooks b17, but I really want to get this rash cleared up before I try to break in a saddle.

Thanks.

Have you tried "Udderly Smooth" as a chamois cream? Just spread it "everywhere". I love it, its cheap ($5 a tube) and it keeps me slick and chaff/rash free on a 40+ mile ride....

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Also, hygiene is very important. Take a few days off the bike, clear up the rash, keep it clean and dry. It's essentially the same thing as diaper rash. Get some A+D ointment for the zinc to help it clear up, and use a chamois cream liberally after you get it cleared up, or Udderly smooth, or Bag Balm, or Udder Butter.

If this is just a recent development, perhaps you need some tough-actin tinactin?

Nonsense! What the OP has is clearly a case of SARS. Just keep a sprig of wolves bane behind your ear for a fortnight and it should clear right up.

Actually that's pretty good advice. If you have been treating it as a diaper rash and it hasn't gotten better yet, you're best bet is to make an appointment with your doctor. You don't want it to get infected.

Bag Balm if you don't mind the chamois being permanently discolored by what is essentially vaseline on steroids.

Udderly Smooth, Butt'r, etc. I've found to be complete crap because they are so soluble that nothing remains the moment you start sweating.

I currently use Assos. It's not cheap, but 20'ish for what amounts to nearly a year's supply to me is a small price to pay for comfort. It is tingly on application, and does hang around awhile (it is semi soluble).

If the Assos stops working, I might try DZ Nutz to see if that is any good.
