Glad to be back in the saddle

I am 6'1", 236, 43 yrs. old. For my birthday in May, I got myself a Windsor Touring Bike from Bike's Direct. Nice bike. I paid $600.00 for it. I let my 14 yr. old boy use it 2 days after I got it and he wrecked it, messing up the crank arm and pedal on the left side. Took it in to get fixed and finally got it back after 2 weeks. I went on my first long ride (18 miles) today after about a 2 year break without a bike. I was really slow, but at least I went out. Will try to get out daily for a ride around this long. I've committed to ride my bike to work this summer though. Only about a 3 mile ride one way, but hopefully I can save some gas money this summer.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Big changes begin with small steps. Always remember that. We have people in here whose first victory was a quarter mile ride, that ride Centuries now. Keep at it, and you'll amaze yourself with how much your own perceptions of what you THINK your limits are will change for the better.
