My commute to work would only be 11 miles each way, but the 1250' of climbing right off the bat at 5:00 in the morning, and then the same amount on the way back home, doesn't make it too fun. Here's the route, done last saturday:

Saturday ride, mostly with the the bunch. In theory it's supposed to be longer and slower than the Tuesday and Thursday hammerfests. I was solo post this thing they call the wall around mile 37 or so.
I guess is was longer.

Sunday afternoon ride with my wife and a few friends. Very hot. Close to 95 degrees and 100 heat index but we still had a fun time.

We did an organized ride yesterday. The Mon Valley Century. My little group did a slight deviation of the 50 mile loop. The normal 50 just stays by the river, and is pretty flat. We decided to add some climbing to our ride, and started at a different location. By doing this we were able to follow the 70 mile loop, and just end it somewhat short. Nice day, some good climbs, but mostly rolling.
Edit: We had to walk over one of the bridges. It was closed, and under construction. The state (PA) gave us permission to use it, but only by walking the bikes on the sidewalks.

ok.. ok.. I just couldn't take it any more! I'm a techno-geek and I just had to break down and go out and buy a garmin! (Happy Birthday to me!) I went with the Edge 500... amazing little unit! ummmm... also seemed to end up with a new pair of shoes and spd pedals... (more happy birthday to me!)

I am posting this even though it was from a few days ago and I posted it in another thread - but this was the hardest bike ride I have done in 20 years. And, there was a timed portion of a hill climb and I am pleased to report that this clydesdale managed to place 830th of 1700 people. On most of the climbs the other riders appeared t be travelling at twice my rate of progress.

I was 30 minutes late to the group ride (work issues) so this was a solo ride. I actually caught up to the back of the slow group.

Ok you guys are killing me I want a Garmin!
Also where are all of those true Clyde rides like mine only 5 or 6 miles and slow as a turtle on a heavy full suspension bike in the summer heat? All of these 20, 30, 70 100 mile rides are making me feel like a major looser at least tell me you guys are riding rode bikes.

Yeah, I want one of these too. I've never had a cyclocomputer of ANY kind before, and this looks like a great one, considering you can easily know JUST how far you went...
No Garmin output, but today's ride was 25 miles, about 14-15mph average, and it was done on a mountain bike with knobbies. I know, I know. The geared road bike lives at my parents' house (no room at my apartment), and I didn't feel like riding singlespeed today.

Got in a decent 30 mile ride today.

I want to keep going down RT 66 to the casino, but not until the heat goes away a little...there's a HUGE hill to climb back up out of the Rio Puerco Basin and I'm not looking forward to it.

Today's social breakfast ride:
https://connect.garmin.com/activity/44666187
I did "sprint" a couple of the overpasses... (yes, we have no real hills here...)

Last year I dug my bike out of 11 years of storage. This time last year 8 miles in an hour would ruin me for a day. Now I've set my hopes on the Las Vegas RTC vivabikevegas.com Century (115 miles) This is part of my training route.
The big dip in the middle is the descent from the mouth of Bootleg Canyon to an overlook for Lake Mead.
Have you ever had one of those moments when you just knew that the down hill you were enjoying was gonna soon be kicking your butt?

Wow! Very impressed with the rides I'm seeing!
Here's my charity ride from this past Saturday. It was very overcast so the temperatures were very pleasant.
