Help Fight Cancer (offtopic)

Haha! I bet you thought I was gonna ask for donations, Nope! I had so much fuin on Sat night at a cancer walk/fight event. My cousin Lorraine is battling the poop out of cancer right now. Our Grandpa died of colon cancer so she's pretty scared. Our family has had yard sales, dontated for her copays, medicines, medical suppy parites etc, whatever it takes to help her out.

I've got one of those flaky cousins that grew up wanting to be Madona. Who knew it would come in handy during a cancer battle. Takes all kinds! We are a very close family so everyone is important to us. Well he went beyond the cal of duty onthis one. Heck, even the cancer society judges created a new category especially for him.

The contest was to dress like a woman and see who raked in the most tips while parading down the path used for the cancer walk. Well he did pretty good but the guy, err gal that won must have been from a wealthy family cause the $2000 donation place in his purse was too great a match for the lots of beans and ride along with the few hundred placed in Jesse's purse. I'm pretty sure that's why the judges ceated a new category.

Imust say, my Cousin Jesse did a much better job that I could have.

Cancer Sucks!

I'm placing this here as most of the peeps in this place are less judgemental. I had such a great time that I wanted to share. a funny video and one a littel more sentimental.

The peeps in blue are my all my cousins as well as most people I show in the footage.

I KNOW IT'S NOT CYCLING but I did go after a 42 mile bike ride. But if the mods feel the need to delete, that's cool!

Crazy cousin Jesse

Anybody who's going to get judgmental about fighting cancer ... needs their head examined.

I'll have to check the video out later, from home, but I did want to say that it's cool you're getting involved and having a good time, but more to send my best wishes for your cousin, Lorraine.

Thanks! We appreciate every wish for good health!

Not sure if you can see or tell but each candle is in a bag lining the trail with a person's name on it, survivor or past.

At one point, they turn down the lights, light all the candles and read each name over the PA whiel the crowd remains silent. Pretty touching.

Beanz, just know I am a 5 year survivor of colon cancer. It's one of the easier to find and cure, with proper prevention. People after 50, get those colonscopies and people with familial history, ask your doctor for a exam.

Prayers for your cousin...
