AND EVEN Mo Climbing vid and pics
42 miles, 5,000 ft. Hillbasher and I on GMR/GRR to Baldy Village, a little bit of climbing on a warm day. Early start was nice!
What's that thermometer say?

You are truly a great ambassador for biking. That was some serious climbing Mr B. Stay healthy and ride forever.

It's funny, I was on a ride yesterday, and I thought of Mr Beanz
It's only 15 miles out and 15 miles back. No problems, about a hour and a half.
Yesterday started the 15 out, into about a 25-30 mph true headwind!
No big deal, at least I'll get a easy ride back. 2 hours of working and I finally get to the turn around point.
I need my water bottle filled, so I ride into the park and fill my bottle, rest a little.
Because of a tropical system, a big rain comes. and the wind turns 180.
Back into the wind AGAIN, and now it's raining HARD! Oh well, the temp dropped below 95.
All i could think of was Beanz and Hillbasher and how they would have like my little ride today.
4 hours of HARD work on a bike.
much better view on your ride.

I have videos of the wind. AlexW (also a poster here) can also verify the story. He was supposed to ride with us this day. I love the wind rides, 40 mph winds with one hand, and one on the camera. Check out the trees in the video. When we turnaround, we're doing 22 softpedaling. That's the only point I let Gina upfront. We have our fun with the Santa Ana winds. Never stops me from riding. If we ride on a windy day, you can be sure we'll have 3 or 4 guys hiding behind us.
The wind is a blast, I'll be happy to jump in on any wind rides. I have a ton of hardcore rider friends that won't ride if the forecast says 25 winds. I've talked Gina into riding the wind so many times that she's found that it isn't all that bad (but she hides behind me). She used to think I was crazy but now she knows it's not all that bad and can be fun. We once did a century with 40 mph winds in Brawley, now that was tough, but fun.
Another windy ride..her hair was dancing all over the place on this day, lots of dirt in the air.

A warm but very enjoyable ride Wednesday up GMR and out to Baldy Village. Was able to get Mr. Beanz to agree to an earlier start than normal. Anything before 9AM for him is robbing him of shuteye, or so he would have you believe. There were a lot more riders up there midweek than I was expecting. He wants to do this ride again next week with another rider from this forum, but I am thinking I would have to start an hour ahead of them at least, if I want to get there anywhere around the same time as the two of them. I do not know this other rider, but Mr Beanz says he climbs like a mountain goat. And I know that Beanz can dust me anytime he wants when it comes to climbing (and on the flats now that I think about it), so it looks like a solo ride for me for the front end at least. But I look at it as having the best of both worlds. A little solo time to myself for the first part of the ride, and people to ride with on the way back if I can keep up with them. And seeing how it is mostly downhill on the way back, the odds are on my side to be able to at least keep them in view.

The look comes from chasing Beanz all day up the mountain. One of these days I will be able to keep up with him, until then, I just give him nasty looks whenever I catch up to him.
