Some Bike Advice- 265lb'er looking to pull a Burley

Hey gang- I've not been good to myself the last few years and my weight has gone up rapidly. Here is what I have in the garage:

Centurion Road Bike- 80's, Lugged Steel, Original

1998 Trek 820- All original parts (mountain bike)

2 seat Burley, 2 year old girl Option

The centurion is pinch flat city for me. I can count on blowing a tube on any given ride.

The Trek needs a good going over by a bike shop- misses gears, brakes rub, shifters are wonky.

I'm wondering if I should look at a hybrid, or whether I should sink the money into one of the older bikes as opposed to just getting something new to ride. I am looking at rides a few times a week in the 10-20 mile range, mostly flat paved trails (Florida).

Thanks for your advice, some inspirational stories on this forum for sure.

Just a couple centurion ?'s. What air pressure do you use, and do you check it before you go out riding (low pressure = pinch flats)? What size tires do you have on the centurion? If they are small (23mm) can you fit some bigger ones on there? https://sheldonbrown.com/gloss_p.html#pinchflat

The questions for you is, are you comfortable on the bikes that you already have. Would it be better for you, financially to fix up what you have rather than buying a new bike?
The safety of your little girl would be the primary concern. A new bike, may help ease your and the mothers concerns.

Sounds like I was running under pressured, with too small of tires. Cant really get anything bigger on there.

My LBS has recommended a Trek Kaitai or Utopia for my needs. Any clydes have experience with these bikes? Lockoff forks, 29'ers. It would give me the opportunity to do some light trail riding around here too.
