Sunday vid and a Fast Inline Skater Chick

Sunday 10/24/10 on the trail. Met up with Lorraine, lady did some ultra distance runs in Crocs (those funky rubber shoes). Nice strong rider and very nice lady. Turns out she new Bad Rob from the Haircut Crew back in their racing days. El Monarcha and Gina started the ride with me but like usual, ran into a few others along the way. Saw EvilEuro, thinking he might ride with us a bit for some video footage since he chose the song for this one!:D BadRob, Greg and BoyLd at the coast. Plus had a little chat with Herb and Alice. We met long ago but and see them al the time on the trail but the recorder said, "interview" haha!

On the way back we were joined by a hot inline skater chick. We met her a couple weeks ago on the way to the coast. Today she rode back with us. Right before her stop (Moon Park), she was hammering. I don't know the skate term for hammering but whatever it is, she was doing it. 24 mph!

Looks like a good ride.... Some of those inline skaters amaze me- When you're riding along at 18 MPH and hear "On Your Left" the LAST thing you expect is a skater- But It's happened to me more than once!

I've been drafted by inline skaters and passed by them. When they're in a big train, you'll hear things like, "Cyclist! passing on your left!" then see a line of them whiz by.

Good one Beanz. Love the interviews with the everyday people.

Back in the spring I was resting along a path and an unattainable girl came by on skates and I thought, "I need to get a better look. I will just ride past her and give my best disarming smile" :D

I spent the next 15 minutes at full bore. i never did catch her:(

She was skating about 25 mph. She did not seem to be working to hard either. It was quite humbling.:o

Now I don't feel so bad when I had to huff and puff to stay in front of an inline skater. I was glad when my turn came up because i wasn't sure how long I could keep up that pace.

Her skate are the roller version of speed skates, probably her offseason training for ice speed skating.

Here's the scary part... on ice, she's even faster. My guess if she can rock 25 MPH without working on concrete she'll be mid 30's easily on ice due to reduced friction and such.

We chatted for a bit at the coast. Her skates sell for $1500! I know, we think they are crazy and they think we are crazy for spending 3 grand on a bike!:D

She didn't buy her skates, she's a sponsored racer (her words and I have no reason to doubt)!:thumb:

And the female skater was not even double pushing!

I never it 43+ mph on a bike without a draft (but he might be drafting a bit as well).

I dunno, but I can post a 20 second video in slow motion without any gauges around to show speed and claim to do 70 on my bike!:D...Pretty much why I show my speedometer in the video, proof. I have a ahard time with the Six Million Dollar Man footage!:p

Boy you are skeptical, I will give the poster the benefit of the doubt, since I think it is possible to do. They average 30+ mph over 300 m from a standing start going around a circular track, so drafting in a straight line would be much faster.

There is another of someone doing 39 (supposedly)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm3gZ...eature=related which is more real speed.

Another great video from Mr. Beanz productions!! Great interviews. That in-line skater was flying.....it didn't even look like she was working that hard.

Did you say that you and Gina share underwear? Pics or it didn't happen!! On second thought.....never mind. TMI

Haha! Gina said the same, and Alice looks like she has some little antlers.:D I was going to clone them out but Gina said it was cute and that people would figure it out anyways, after a double take I guess!.:D
