Drawbidge for bicycles

I rode the Tammany Trace today, Louisiana's rail to trail project. It includes a staffed drawbidge . At 5:30 it's raised up and remains there until morning, so you have to make sure your where you want to be by then.

I started in the middle of the 27 mile trail. I rode to one end and back to the middle. I had a choice of either going home or heading the other way and round tripping the trail for a new personal best of 54 miles.

I thought to myself, what would Sayre do.....er, uh I mean Mr Sayre. Of course I took the 54 mile option albeit significantly slower than my hero Mr Sayre.

Anyway I had a blast riding my bike today, hope you enjoy the picture.

Sounds like a very cool ride. Though I might add you're going to give me a swollen ego if you keep that up! By the by, if you ever get down to the area immediately surrounding N.O., let me know how Gretna looks these days. I haven't been down to Louisiana in about 10 years, but I used to live in Gretna when I was very young. I miss the whole area very much sometimes.

As it stands, it seems the whole forum is walking around thinking "What Would Sayre Do?" Ooops, that's "What Would MR. Sayre Do?" :-)

Bbeasley, nice work. What body of water does that bridge cross?

Bayou Lacombe is correct, Gretna is slowly re building.

Sayre, you are a winner. I've noticed this thread of success weaving it's way through your transformation. Your race on the trike, your 5K run, your Clyde 20 speed. It's very motivating and helps me remove my own mental obstacles. Okay I'll stop calling you Mr. Sayre.... maybe

Bob

If you really want to be into hero worship, make this your avatar. :-)

Seriously, I'm not even a role model, much less a hero. I'm just a guy who used to be really, really fat who's been working on getting less fat. That's it.

I tried to plead that when I first started posting here. Once you get tagged with "inspirational", you are done for. Welcome to the club. :-)

Lighten up, dude, bbeasley, CraigB, and I are all having a little fun with you.
