Ammount of riding
Do most of you try to ride everyday or do you space it out. I try to ride everyday but if I am unable I have been on my Fluid trainer. Just curious!

I find that I can't ride every day, and most training programs have a rest day or 2 in each week. I find that I build strength/speed best on a 4-5 day a week training schedule, on the off days I will go on long hikes and do other stuff, but try to keep the heart rate low.

I ride when I feel like it. I am not into racing, except for triathlons, so I just ride for fun. When I am preparing for a triathlon, I ride about 3 times a week.

I got a trainer for christmas, I have been trying to ride it every day. Not really to build up but to maintain some fitness for the spring and the most important reason is that it helps regulate my blood sugars.

Around here, you either use the trainer this time of year, or you don't ride at all.... The first winter I started back riding, I essentially took the winter off, and by the time I got back into riding shape, it was nearly September and the season ended in early November, the next winter the same thing happened, the 3rd winter I got the trainer, this allows me, to stay in riding shape. Currently I am trying to do around 100km a week, with 2 weeks into January, I am currently at 215 for the month, so it's pretty close. With 5 days on, and Wednesday and Sunday off, the 5 days remaining, make it 20km per day. The plan is to gradually increase the Saturday ride to give more distance and keep the other 4 days at the 20km mark. Whether I can hold this in April when outdoor riding starts again, I don't know.

I ride everyday. I commute weekdays and I get out on the weekends for an hour or so.
This year I joined up with a team so I'm trying to come through Winter with a good level of fitness for when team riding activities ramp up later this Spring.

I ride nearly every day. I try no to drive, so I commute five days a week. I usually get some longer rides in on the weekends. I'll get more miles in once the warmer weather arrives.

Due to my work schedule, I find that I can not really get a ride in on my work days (12 hour work days). So, I end up riding on every day I'm off (3 days one week and 4 days the next week). I had this idea of having my wife take me to work on Saturday's (the week that I work 4 day) so I could ride home sunday morning and get a 4th day in. But, that idea never made it to action. I might try it this year.

So I only total 6-7 hours a week spread over 4 days, mostly commuting 25 miles round trip to/from work.

I ride every day, but go really easy on "rest" days. I do find that a nice, easy ride with stretching before and after helps me to loosen up on rest days after a hard ride, and helps me get some soreness out.
So I generally have my biggest, hardest ride on Saturdays, and try to do some form of cycling exercise on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On the other days, I just do my short commute, and do nice easy rides just to get some time on the bike and stretch out tight muscles.
At least it's working well for me so far, my mileage is on the way up and weight is on the way down.

I don't ride every day but my goal is to ride about 220 days during the year. In 09 I rode 223 days and in 2010 I rode 214 days. I live in Florida so we can pretty much ride all year. I don't like days when the temp gets below 55 degrees or above 95 degrees. So I pretty much take what the weatherman gives me. My average ride for the year is about 30 miles per ride. If the temp is going to be 95+ degrees I go very early in the morning.

I feel better when I ride every day (or at least 6 days a week) but have had too many other things come up lately keeping me from that.

I commute at 4 days a week. It'd be 5, but my company lets me work from home 1 day/week.
On days where the roads are too dangerous to drive a car, I work from home that day, too.
If I don't get at least one longer ride in on a weekend, I feel awful.

I ride pretty well every day - usually the 40kms round trip to the coffee shop and back in the morning. The cold is fine - Ontario - and the cars are more or less nicer in the colder weather. If I mis some days I try and not worry about it because I am looking at another 40 years more or less of being vertical so no sense freaking on the small stuff.
