Cycling Video Test

I received my handlebar mount from Amazon this afternoon and decided to take my mountain bike out for a ride around the neighborhood. I used the Kodak Playsport camera to record the video. If you watch the whole thing, you'll see where I nearly crashed into the back on my escape at the end.

Pretty Decent Video. Seems to be fairly stable. I have tried all kinds of things, but that is about as good as I can get it as well. I have recently done my best to try and obtain footage from multiple angles since people constantly complained about getting a headache watching vids from Handlebar Cam. You can kind of see what I am referring to in these two.
The second one is obviously more recent footage.

XLinked, Is that music in the first video Ravel's Bolero? I'm not much into the classics. That music would be great for a video of a long, steep hill climb.

Thank you for posting a video WITHOUT music on it so the viewer can evaluate the performance of the camera I was considering purchasing a Kodak Playsport, and your video almost sold me. The only problem is the .mov format it records in. Since I have that buggy Magix Movie Edit Pro software to edit .mov files, sometimes I get a clip that imports without audio. Is there better editing software out there that does NOT require converting the .mov files to another format (which degrades quality)?

Your camera has great audio quality. I didn't hear any rattling noise like I get with my point-and-shoot digital camera on my handlebar mount. Which handlebar mount did you get?

I'd rather see the long, steep hill climb without any music. Especially classical, which was shoved down my throat all through childhood

I'm just starting with video so I'll probably just use iMovie (for the mac) for editing. I was surprised by the audio quality too. I bought this mount. I probably could have rigged something together for free but I don't have the time and I have amazon prime shipping and with no tax, I decided to just buy it. It seems very sturdy.

If I really get into videos which I think I will, I'll just buy a 1080p helmet camera. Amazon sells one for $280. Maybe that can be a Christmas gift.

For a cheap camera mount I use this:

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/fotopro...r-orange-32974

I'm currently using a medium sized camera to shoot my videos, Nikon P100.
But, I see there's a lot of good point and shoot/pocket cameras that have HD capability.

Here's one of many:

Fujifilm FinePix XP10 12 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Green) by Fuji
Buy new: $114.95

In Stock

I wondered if you had a Mac. The video quality was excellent, so I figured you probably didn't have to convert it to another format first. I really should just save up and buy a Mac Mini for editing .mov and .mp4 files, I guess.

This is the mount I use.

Another reason I like your camera is the fact that you can record in resolutions lower than 1080p. I am only interested in high-quality VGA, so the 848x480 setting is perfect for me.

It is Bolero.. I just edited in the finaly 2 minutes of the song. It would have to be a fairly long and boring climb to require the whole 11 minutes song
