SoCal Bike Race for Clydes

On March 19th there is a bike race on Camp Pendleton.

http://www.camppendletonraces.com/bike.html

They go by age ranges, not categories and have a Clyde division. Last year there were 23 participants in the Clyde division.

If you are into racing, or want to try a race, I recommend this event. It is 26 miles, and they won't whistle you off the course when you get dopped by the field like some sanctioned races, not that I would know anything about that

There is a climb approaching the turn around point, but they allow 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the course. The entry fee is reasonable, you get a cool t-shirt, there are drinks and snacks at the start/finish, water handouts at the turn around point, and Marines cheering you on out on the course.

Anyone else going to be there?

I'm 'almost' not a Clyde anymore....... down to 209 (from a max of 247!). How is this catagory derived?
Over 200?
It definitely sounds inviting.
I'm doing the Solvang ride this weekend (metric century) and depending on how I finish that, I will have interest for sure.
Thanks for the heads-up!

$40 is a little steep.

Of course, I also will be out of town for work.

Yes, 200+ lbs, on the honor system. No weigh-ins at the start line. Of course, they are calling for rain now. It rained last year! What are the odds....

From their website, "Revenue generated from MCCS activities supports quality-of-life programs for our Marines, Sailors, and their families. Thanks for your support!"

And, last year I got a nice long sleeve shirt, a skull-cap, goodie bag, drinks and snacks provided, and of course a road race course with all times posted. Not too bad at all in my opinion.
