A Little X-Training (jumprope)
Well, when Gina asked if I wanted another bike (29'er) I said no but I had been thinking about a jump rope. Been about 15 years since I used one but I need something to get me back into shape. Not bad for $10!
I got it so figured I'd give it a try today out in the garage. Like I said, been 15 years so it's sloppy but a darn good workout. Getting in a good 4 minutes of jumping made my legs hurt more than climbing 5000 ft on the bike haha! My heart was pound so loud that I picked it up on the recorder haha! Not till you start jumping around that you realize your tummy is bigger than it should be. But Hey, even Rocky started somewhere!
Few years back I could jump forever. today I almost died with an actual 4 minutes of jumping time. That's 4 minutes not counting the screw up time having to get re-started. Give me a couple of weeks, I'll be jumping 10 no problem.
Ow, my legs hurt!

If there's no editing there, I have to admit that I'm impressed. Had some demeaning remarks all ready to go too!

I had another minute or so of jumping but deleted some, too repetitive.
The part captioned "needs practice" I screwed up like 3 times in a row trying to to that cross rope movement.
Give me a couple weeks, I'll be able to jump forever without a miss.
BTW, I was searching some Rocky video on the tube looking for some moves. He wasn't all that fancy. His only crossings were at the end of his routine. But he did do the double pass under one jump. Used to do it but today I just couldn't get it to work. I did see another dude do a couple tricks I'd like to try.

Thanks!..Yeha, I have htis way of getting people to exercise. When I use to pump iron, I had all my own gym stuff. Squat rack, pec dec, bench, 600 lbs of olympic weights, dumbell rack , hex dumbells in pairs from 5's to 45's. Over 10 years I had a number of workout partners. Many guys from work and neighbors that asked,"can I try working out with you?". A couple different guys lasted about a year or so. I;m the type that I write and log everything I do. When I find something that works, I'd go from there and build a routine around it. One had that figured out th guys taht I worked with made big gains and fast. One dude went from benching 135 to 300 in about 6 months, that was darn good. Another dude went from a skinny dork to a buffed out dude. Still struck out with the wimmins though cause he couldn't dance a lick haha!
As you can see, I discovered bike s and gav up the iron. Someday when I'm 55+, I'll start pumping again!
My weight room years ago (only shows some of the stuff)

I can't lift and ride. I end up lifting too hard then have no energy for riding. I've tried to lift lighter but increasing the weight just calls my name. I get to involved. If I lift, I lift hard then I want to ride hard and that doesn't work for me. Bench 330 one day then do a 5000ft climb the next, I can't get the energy levels to cooperate.

Any idea why I couldn't see this video in particular? I mean, what triggered that youtube filter?

Did you place a check mark or something so that youtube knows about the copyrighted song? If not, do they manually/randomly scan uploads? Just trying to understand, because I very rarely upload videos... Your answers will help me understand, so thanks for answering!

I have my videos set on "public" so that anyone can watch them. But the copyright laws dictate who and what, where etc.
From what I understand, any videoloaded is digitally scanned by the site an labeled accordingly.
I do have some friends in a band that recorded a couple CD's. Oldies like "Califonia Sun". Sound fairly cose to the originals so I've been thinking about trying them to see if they are useable on youtube.
If I had loaded the video with another song, you should have been able to view it. Just curious since you're in another contry, can you view any of my videos?
This is one that you should be able see, it's labeled as "public by youtube. If not.............

Thanks for the detailed reply!
I've already watched that one, and some of your other videos. The x-training one is the only one I couldn't watch. Thank God it's not cycling related, or curiosity would have killed me, although I'm not a cat.

PS: Great beginning
They scan evey song , video, movie, any form of media loaded. If it violates copyright laws, they disable the audio. Some songs have certain rights. Some songs go public which means anyone anywhere can view them. Some are non viewable in other countries. Different situations but I'm not exactly which apply to which countries etc.

One gal in another forum said "sounds like I was having sex". So it might rival your heavy breathing.

You want to post some heavy breathing, get a rope!!! Plus the handles are 1/2 pound weights so it's a little heavier than other ropes I've had.

I think a fast climb video would look pretty good. Yes there will be heavy breathing, but how else are you supposed to climb well?

I am impressed. I do some rope work but I dont have that rythym. Great post too. For cardio and weight loss ropes are #1 and dirt cheap. I bring mine with when I go for family rides. When they are lagging behind I jump for a couple min. They apreciate the slowdown after I jump

But the $10 rope, as you can see works well. Also has adjustable handles which is nice. So go get a rope and get t it!
Funny, but a few years ago, Gina came home with this Rocky figure. She said she saw it and thought that it looked like me so she bought it for me. More the other version where he's wearing yellow (?) like he's going out to run. But this figure is the battered version so I'm not sure what she means by that haha!
I see it a little bit but if she wants to think I look like Rocky, let her!

And the legs, man they are tender in the calves. This is going to take some time to break it in!
I wooohohohon't bring the rope on a ride though. If I jump, Gina would shirley drop me.
