a Clyde, a triathlete, and a cat 5 racer
boy am I sore.
a couple of friends from church heard that I've done about 4000 miles since last summer, so they invited me to ride with them. seemed like a good idea at the time. one of them is a triathlete with what seems like 2% body fat, and the other is a cat 5 racer who probably weighs half what I do.
the first 45 minutes were fine, mostly flat terrain and I was able to keep up (though they were probably taking it easy just to humor me). after that though, we started to hit some hills and it wasn't pretty. I pushed as hard as I could trying to keep up, but it of course was to no avail. and I woke up yesterday more sore than after my first century.

Good job.
Now, pick up your telephone. Call those guys. And demand that they take you again!

well I don't want to be too pushy. there are some guys I do distance with but they don't ride much, and it drives me nuts when they walk up the hills and want to cruise at 12-13mph. I'm sure that's how these guys feel riding with me. if they invite me again, I'll go though

For the mere cost of a one day USAC license you too can be a Cat 5 racer! Find a local crit and get out thee.
What's the worse that can happen? Just ride safe and when you get to Offthebackastan they will pull you. The game is to stay in as long as you can!
