Let the weekend begin......w/ pics

I have become hopelessly addicted to dirt trails. Yesterday evening I was late getting out to ride, so too late to get to the local trails. I decided to ride the local roads and I was bored out of my skull. Finally I couldn't take it any more and trespassed on to the local country club to finish at least on a trail of sorts

This evening after work, I was able to make it out to Trail of Tears. As usual, my ride was followed by my ritual celebratory brew

Ahhh! Back on dirt and gravel. 10 Miles climbing and flying at Trail of Tears.

Taking a break.

Automatic Tire Wash

I love this ritual....Ride.....Celebrate the Ride

What can I say? It was Magic :-)

Jonesboro, IL About 20 miles south of Carbondale in the Shawnee National Forest. Lots of double track fire roads.

Shhhh! In this park, I have never had a problem, and have actually stopped and talked to rangers several times with no prob. Also, in the same area there is the Cedar Lake Trail and Lake Kinkaid, and both allow bikes along with the horses and humans.

I am sure that many of the places I ride don't fit into the rules, but life is short and I have a real problem with not being able to ride my little bike where horses are allowed.
Considering the beautiful places I have ridden to versus having not, I will pay the fine if caught. The risk to reward works for me.

btw.....Where are you located?
