    XXL Bike Jersey??

I'm 230 lbs and have been wearing XL and XXL tees and "running" cloths to ride in. I'd like some bike jerseys but I'm having a hard time finding any that fit me.

At 6' 1'' I'm pretty big but not ginormal. I wear 38" jeans and XL or XXL t-shirts every day. Most XXL t-shirts fit me very loosely. But when I try on Bike Jersey's the XXL jerseys seem more like larges and don't even come close to fitting.

I tried on a XXL jersey the other day made by Hincapie and I swear I couldn't zip that shirt if I lost 40 lbs.

What's up with this, and has anyone found some comfortable fitting Bike Jerseys in true XXL sizing?

My wife sewed some Velcro tabs to the top of my cheapo bike shorts and now I run 2" silk ribbon material from the top of the shorts over my shoulders to hold them up like suspenders - It works fine cause I just wear a polo T-Shirt over the top - I have not yet gotten to a size where I want to invest in a stylish set of bibs and I am pretty tough on all my cloths - Also I stink up pretty good and wash them often so I don't have to worry about wearing my stuff out in the washer - It has saved me much money...

I've had a real hard time finding jerseys that fit even when I'm 220. The racer type jereys are Euro sizing made for thin Euro racers. The club fit is much more forgiving but can also be too snug on me. That's why I use the plain type jerseys from Performance. Plain but they do the job and I'm not really "much" into the jersey scene anyway.

Look for jereys that say "club fit".

Welcome to the skewed world of bike clothing sizes. You'll find most of the time they'll run one full size smaller than you expect. Part of it is because they're supposed to be a little tight to begin with, and part of it is, well, who knows?

In my experience, you pretty much have to swallow whatever pride you might have in the size labels on your street clothes and accept the fact that you're going to see another "X" in front of that label if the label is affixed to bike shorts or jerseys. After going from 2XL (and sometimes 3XL) street clothing to comfortably fitting now in Larges, I'm still in at least XL bike clothes, and with some manufacturers 2XL. That's just the way it is.

LL Bean is having a sale, ends today.

Their bike jerseys are very big. You might
want to order an Xl and XXl and send back the one
    that doesn't fit.

    You stumbled across Euro sizing.

AeroTech Designs, LL Beans, use American sizing.

You can find Euro jerseys in4x-6x

Most jerseys have a euro cut which puts them a size or 2 smaller than there tags.. Performance and Nashbar jerseys are cut roomier or American or Club Cut.. Look more at the chest size measurements vs the TAG size..

+1 on the performance jerseys. I found that some of the louis garneau jerseys fit better also.
It is not about the destination. It is about the journey getting there.
Competitors work until they get it right, but champions work until they can't get it wrong.

That's interesting. A couple of weeks ago when I went to our local Performance shop to try on jerseys, I could fit in just about everyone's XL except Garneau, which required a 2XL before I could even begin to squeeze into them. I wonder if they're inconsistent, or if they have different cuts that the uninitiated (like me) aren't able to decode.

Well I just got some amazing deals on Ebay on some ASSOS TIR clothing (TIR is their largest size XXXL).
I got a new EVO jersey for $99 and a worn a couple of times FUGUJACK (was too small on the owner, looks perfectly new) for $275.
Since I knew I wasn't going to fit but I want to loose some poundage I thought this would be the perfect
motivation. Especially since these are early fall and winter items it gives me a lot of time.
I started at 275 and after 3 weeks am now 260 going for 230 by July, I am 6' 1".

I could "fit" into the EVO jersey but I am not after the stuffed sausage look. I let my brother try it on, at 6' 1" 210
there was a slight looseness in the back, so I think I will be fine at 220ish. The same with the fugujack.

Just for comparison I have a XL Abercrombie & Fitch jacket I use for fairly cold days and it was loose on me at 270+ with a thick
sweater and base layer underneath. So much for consistent clothing sizes.

It seems the more expensive the material (gortex, windbloc etc.) the smaller the items get. I also bought an XL J&G rain jacket (made in Oregon)
that is still snug on me at 260. The worrisome thing is it is even tight in the biceps, and I am planning on starting some
weight training next week. I might fit in the torso at 220-230 but I won't be able to get my arms through the sleeves.
