Race season == half wax starting from about 1" above the tan line. Shaving's too much of a hassle to maintain when you're as furry as I am.

Nope. Tried it once. My jeans felt weird against my legs, my sheets on the bed felt weird, it itched like hell when growing back. Never again.
If it actually made any difference in my riding ability, I may consider doing it again. But it's not worth the effort just to look a certain way. I mean, I haven't shaved my face in a year. Why would I shave my legs?
My wife always apologizes if she goes an extra day without shaving her legs. I tell her "been there, done that. If you want to stop shaving all together, you have my support".

I don't and I'm furry. I haven't started road biking, maybe once that starts but I doubt it.

All my race buddies do it but I just haven't had the confidence or courage to try. I'm not that hairy though.

No need to. There are no visible hairs on my arms and just a few on my legs.

Yep, I do.
See following (emphasis mine)...
+1
Then you did it wrong: you don't let it grow back. I shave about 2x a week.
From my blog...
Here are my own reasons for shaving:
Then you did it wrong: you don't let it grow back. I shave about 2x a week.
From my blog...
Here are my own reasons for shaving:
- To fit in and be similar to the rest of the group;
- I like the looks of my hairless legs: shaving allows the muscular definition to more easily be seen and my legs just plain look much better;
- Professional & top-amateurs get daily massages: shaved legs are easier to manipulate (I do occasionally get a massage so this can be applicable to me from time-to-time);
- Road rash is easier to clean and take care of (I don’t crash too much, but when I do, this is certainly applicable to me);
- Hair tends to get stuck in road rash and it hurts when you pull it out when your legs are moving around; and
- There actually is, a very miniscule aerodynamic benefit (again, pros and top-amateurs are concerned here, not my big ‘ole but).

I just finished the article (nice one, BTW). Liked this quote the best:
Barry's turning into a pretty good writer. And rider.
But redemption comes. Even reduced to rubble like this, as the dirt comes off, my legs in their smooth state show each ripple, every indentation carved by the lack of the fat, every bulging muscle that pushes the skin taut, every scar. They are sculptures, monuments to my love of cycling, and it is right that they should not be covered.

Nope, but I don't race. If I raced, I'd shave to make it easier to clean out wounds.

There are three main reasons to shave in the following order of importance:
1. Roadrash - Pain mitigation, ease of cleaning, infection prevention. I don't crash that often but when I do...
2. Message after the ride or race. Ohhh it's nice. Lots of masseuses prefer shaved but some don't really care. All of mine have.
3. The wife really likes it. No further explanation required.

Hmm.... oddly,
I shaved all my facial hair off when I bought the new bicycle.
Can't even tell ya why, or even if the timing was intentional.

I have tattoos on my left arm and if the hair grows out, well, the italian in me makes them look like ****. As a consequence, it looks weird to have hairless arms and a matting of hair on my legs. So, off goes the leg hair. I shave the boys and trim the top.

I did when I was in my 20s and racing. Don't feel the need to now.

Xgirlfriend and a straight razor is not a definition of 'help me shave my legs'.
Get better aero by using the razor on the dome-light.
