Clyde got a new wagon, and is motivated to push harder....

Over the July 4th weekend I acquired a new to me Trek Pilot 2.1 (2005 model) It has a 105 group with a triple crank. I also have my Blue Velvet Long Haul Trucker.

Today marked my first commute on the new Trek. I'm putting as many miles on it as possible before July 17, with the intent of deciding which bike I'll be riding in RAIN (Ride Across INdiana - 160 miles Illinois to Ohio)

I thought maybe you would be willing to look at and offer suggestions based on some ride data I have....

Bike From Work July 5, 2011 (Pilot): http://connect.garmin.com/activity/97098950

Looking at the heart rate, it looks like I may have pushed a little harder this morning than I did on june 7 on the way into work. On the way home however it looks like I didn't push as hard, and still went about 1 mile per hour faster.

Can more experienced Clydes offer suggestions on what I might be able to do to get faster, and more consistent on the bike? Thanks!
