I have 75 miles down. 25 to go, but only 5 days to do it in. If the weather stays cool, I might be able to do it. If it is HHH I won't, but as of today, I think it will happen. fingers crossed for good weather.

Not sure if this link will work or not. I should have updated sooner. Monthly total is 166.71 miles. Really happy, but happier that I've lost another 12 pounds this month. Down to 290.

I did it. Finished my 100 miles. I have some serious tailbone pain and chafing. I think I have the seat adjusted (finally) and feel that I am on my sit-bones pretty well, I don't feel pressure on my tailbone, but about 20 minutes or so after I stop riding, my tailbone starts to ache and hurts for the rest of the day. I also had some serious chafing today and can't seem to get it under control. I have some nice, thickly padded shorts, and I am thinking I might need some shorts that are not so thickly padded.

Wreader, congratulations on meeting your goal!

So what kind of bike do you ride? What kind of seat? Have you posted about your seat woes? I had terrible seat problems and ended up buying a new seat as well as having the position of the seat changed.

I ended up having a great month! Beat my goal of 100, no problem and even blew by my stretch goal of 150.

Total mileage for August: 180 miles!

That's great! You sure kicked it on your goal! Considering how hot it was the first of the month, this is very impressive.

I ride a Specialized Crossroads. I have spent the past couple of weeks adjusting the saddle, and I am finally getting it, but the chafing is pretty bad. I think I need a big tube of diaper ointment. I ordered some shorts that don't have as much padding because I do think the extra thick padding is allowing too much movement of the shorts and my skin.

I am really happy with my month. The weather was ideal in northern Minnesota and the UP of Michigan so I got a lot of rides in, almost every day.

I like tight shorts with minimal padding so you could be right. Or, it could be the design of the saddle. I found that I had rubbing problems when my saddle was pear shaped rather than t-shaped, which was counter-intuitive for me.

7 more miles on the last day of the month gives me 152 total. Much better than I thought I'd do.

Congratulations mgb and everyone else who met their goals!

I am going to be in a different challenge so someone else will have to take this over if they are interested.

EDIT: well, no one did so what the heck, I started a September thread.

I FELL OFF!! (Not my bike, but the 100 mile challenge) I ended up not riding the last week... and 2 miles short of my highest mileage month... I REALLY need to go to bed earlier. Well when I see the september thread I will sign up for that and maybe this month I will hit the goal.
