Saturday Sept 10th Rides: Amish Ride or South Jersey Tour des Farms Ride?
There are two rides on Sept 10th.
Amish ride: https://www.amishclassic.com/
or the:
Tour des Farms: https://www.sjrcd.org/tourdesfarms/
Whos in for what? Both rides look good. Amish rides looks like a heck of a party afterwards which I would love to hang out and have a great time with everyone.

I don't know. I'm still leaning towards Milton. Despite the Amish Classic being rather close to home, I don't understand paying to ride the roads I could ride normally for free.

you can say the same thing for racing Sayre. You can race anytime!
For me, I love to see the farms, meet new people and have a great time. But thats just me. I have a demanding job so its nice to take a break when I can and have fun.

I am in Ocean City NJ, we just got back from doing the lancaster covered bridge yesterday, and we spent Friday night up in a hotel up there to do the ride. No need to go back in the area for another ride this year. The Tour de Farms looked interesting because I believe 6 people from my work were going to do the ride, and we rode together for the ACS ride earlier in the year. But my daughter is 9 (she has a Trek 1.2 rode bike) and the tour de farms state on their website you must be 12. So I appreciate you posting these options, that bbq at the end sealed it for this fat guy, lol,

That's not quite true. Club, event, and charity rides are more numerous than races, especially races that don't require a USCF membership. If Mr. Kulp wants to race, he can't count on an event being held whenever he wants. However, he can ride the roads used for the rides you've suggested any time he wants.

I'm leaning towards the Dover ride at the moment, it should be flatter than the Lancaster ride (I think no route posted that I could see) and in that case I definitly think you should do the metric Issac (I'll want company). As long as you pace yourself I don't think it should be an issue, you'll be beat at the end but that's part of the fun lol. (ok really if you don't think you are upto it that's fine I just think it would be fun)

will: I oculd not keep up with you if I tried. Saturday pushed me a lot as far as speed goes. When you and Aubury (sp?) passed me when we were almost done, I was pretty much done with energy. lol

There is another local ride the next day
Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is an advocacy organization that supports local needs such as the SRT
This is more like a rolling party on closed to vehicle traffic, streets of Phila. Many happy, friendly faces with no attitudes. I rode in it last year (in the rain) and had an absolute blast

First y'all were talking about Milton and got me interested in that. If you decide to do the Amish ride in PA, I might be persuaded.

There isn't any reason we need to go that fast, that ride was pushing 16-17 mph for the first 30 miles, I imagine if you were going 13-15 you could have gone much further. The first time I rode with Neil I went 50 miles and my previous high was 35, our average speed was 10-12 mph and if it was any faster I would have died.

I'm going to stick close to home that weekend. Between the peach ride and ballgame I was gone all last weekend. This weekend and it looks like the weekend of the 24th are bike trips and somewhere in between I need to get down to Va Beach. I'll either do the Amish ride which isn't too far from me or open the garage and roll out from there.

Personally, I'm with Paisan on this. The tenth I'll ride near home. Too many 'big' rides and events coming up in September already.

hey if you guys are interested in doing something closer to home I'm fine with that (as it's probably closer to me too).
