Do you like beer?
I like beer, not quiet as much as riding, but whatever.

Next year during the last two weeks of August I intend to go on a bike tour I've Dubbed "America the Brewtiful."

It's going to be starting in Vermont not far from Magic Hat Brewery that being my first stop,then onto Brown Brew Co in Troy then down to Cave Mountain Brewing Company in Windham NY, down to Brooklyn Brewing Co, and Finishing off at Riverhorse in NJ.

I'm hoping to ride and camp through the Northern Parts of this, not really set on all of the locations, I just like these, and they seem like a pretty direct route.(Considering doing Flying Fish instead of Iron Horse and Saranac instead of Brown) All of the loctions have brew pubs.

Any thoughts, advice?

Have fun. I love beer and I lover to ride. Nothing like pounding a few after a nice ride. While at Riverhorse be sure to try thier Hopalotamus, it's might tasty. There is actually a ride in NJ somewhere that goes from an Irish Pub near Philly to an Irish Pub in AC. Plan your route carefully, sounds like you may be in for some serious climbing through NY. Not that there is anything wrong with that just that it will slow you down a bit.

If you head over into Philly there is the Manayunk Brewery on Main Street in Manayunk. Then head up the SRT to Phoenixville for Iron Hill and Sly Fox.

Slyfox makes an incredible Hefeweizen. I've been meaning to go to Iron Hill, maybe I can fit that in.

When I lived in NH, I used to like Tuckerman's. Their beer is krausened, at least some varieties.

I just might do that, I think I've got about 12 days to do all this, I'll just have to see whats feasable.

Yes and no. I'm more of a Scotch kind of guy. Walker Red is my go-to utility booze.

We drank a world of beer crossing the country. Mostly mass-produced though. One guy in our group was an alcoholic. He would somethimes drink along the day's route. Now when I tour I almost alwasy drink wine. The GF doesn't drink beer, and wine is easier to carry.

Sounds like a fun trip you have planned.

Grew up in a town with a brewery, learned to like everything from the darkest stout to the most intense IPA. I've spent years training for the beer olympics, just waiting and hoping, because when they make it a sport I want to be drinking for the world title.

I really can't understand why people like beer as something in/about it makes me physically ill long before I could get intoxicated. More for everyone else I suppose.
