OT: Anyone use the xBox Kinect + Biggest Loser Software?

Not a huge fan of the show but the BL software running on the xBox Kinect appeared to get decent reviews so I bought a copy on eBay and loaded it up last night ($20).

Seems pretty decent for adding some cardio/core workouts to my weight-loss routine. With my biking I really dont want to spend more time away from the family at a gym. The main thing I like is that the Kinect scans your body-type and figures out a weight loss program for you. It also suggests form improvements as you are performing the exercises.

Overall, Im fairly impressed with the setup. First time I used it last night so my report may change :)

Anyone else use the software?

I'm interested to hear how you like it going forward with things. I was part of the Kinect beta and got to see the evolution of the recognition software, and while I haven't tried the BL program, I did get to test the Your Shape: Fitness Evolved program and I wasn't impressed with the scan/analysis segment. It worked fine for my wife (5'4"), but just wouldn't cooperate with me (6'6"). IIRC, you're a taller dude, like 6'3" or something. Did it have any issues?

Interesting..."Your Shape" was another option but I wen t for the BL as it was reviewed one star extra (7.5/10)

Im 6'0" and it estimated me at 5'11" - close enough for me. Its a horror though, as it puts a scanned avatar of your actual body shape onto the TV to track your exercise form. My avatar looked like the "Michelin Man". I would love to say the avatar scan was wrong but I cant as everyone else's avatar looked exact to their body shape. :)
Tonight will be my first "full workout". Last night, my 8-year old thought it hilarious to run in front of the sensor and have the scanned image change into her. She also though it funny to yell out "I want to Quit" as that voice-command exits the work out for you... :) Oh, to be young again.

So tonight, everyone's out of the house and I will give it another shot...

Just completed my first 20 minute work-out. It kicked my a$$, even on "Moderate". 7 mins in I was dripping with sweat and laughing at how out of shape I am. I bike 45+ mile per week and thought Id do "Ok" - how wrong was I.

So far its a pretty neat setup - Im targetting "core" - Lets see if I feel it on my weekend ride tomorrow ;)

I know its a marketing thing to get you to spend your hard earned cash, but i really like the Biggest Looser stuff. Wife has about 5 DVD's and they really cater to the clydes/athenas with a great understanding of our limitations, but they dont hold back on kicking your butt.

good luck magohn, keep us updated how it goes
