Christoval to San Angelo

My Uncle and I completed a 33 mile ride from Christoval to San Angelo going through Knickerbocker, a couple small towns out here in West Texas. The morning started off with the valve stem blowing out of one of my front tubes when I was doing pre ride air ups. Had to change the tube, and other than this little incident the ride went really smooth. This is combined footage of mine and my Uncles footage. We used Go Pro Heros, I edited it with iMove '09. It isn't the best movie ever made, but this was my third attempt playing with iMove and I feel it was pretty good. Started out at 62.6 degrees and ended up at 91.4, the day grew hotter, all the way up to 109, thankfully we were done before that happened. Our average speed was 13.3 mph and we climbed 656 feet throughout the ride, we are pretty flat here. I rode my Catrike Expedition and my Uncle rode his Raleigh Talus 29 Comp with a smoother street tire. We are both Clyde's and started cycling regularly back in July. It's good to have a buddy that pushes you to keep going and hold you accountable for cutting the weight. So far I am down 25lbs and am really enjoying riding, hopefully he will chime in and give his weight loss stats. We are already planning a 40 mile trek and want to do 100 mile trek by next summer. Hope everyone enjoys the video, thanks for watching.

You guys live in Mayberry?......Wow, wish we had roads like that over here, low traffic.

Nice! Nice views and shots with those extensions/rods. GO Pro, nice stable view too. My favorite shot, under the trike and the classic flag in the face shot.

Ever think about using the animations to blend your scene to scenes? Make for a nice flow imo, just a suggestion. Oh, and slow down the credits, I haven't done any speed reading since high school haha!

Yeah I need to add them, the quick cut is kinda annoying. I have tried all I can to slow the credits down, I know I am not doing something right but this is only my 3rd video with iMove so I will get better as time goes on. Thanks for watching and the comments.

I use window movie maker11 so the credits may be different but I notice the speed depends on how long you leave the "caption" display on the credits.

For example, I post "Mr Beanz Productions" as my credit, I also edit the caption to read for 5 seconds, it goes about normal speed. If I post it for 10 seconds, it will roll by slower. If I post it for 2 seconds, it's going to fly by! it need to post all the credits in the amont of time you allow .

yours might be different cause you have lots of credits, so I would say you need to place the speed on the credits about 15 seconds so they roll by slower. You might have it on about 5 seconds so all the credits need to fly by in order to be shown in that little amount of time.

the more you have, the more time you need to show the credits.

@Mr. Beanz I figured out the way to adjust the time, it drove me nuts. I would set it to 6 meaning 6 seconds but the software would default to 4.0s. So what I had to do was format the time like 15.0s to get it to run longer, stupid I know but is required in that format no matter the time you enter. My next video will be better I promise.

@txvintage Yeah its a nice route, pretty low on traffic and is a 5 lane road so it makes taking the lane much more pleasant. Once out past the airport and lake then its really just you and the road with a few bits of wildlife every now and again.

Not criticizing, just some constructive crit.......I know how it is, I posted a few vids then found the mistakes after loading on youtube.

hints, watch the video before you post it. Sometimes the blending doesn't take eventhough it shows on the story board of the vid program.

Also, check you typing in the captions etc. I see you missed something in the captions of the mid titles, maybe "recorded", ya missed a letter.

I hate when I do that, takes too long to post on yt a second time so if I make a mistake, it's staying there.

Again, not poking, just constructive crit. vids take lots of detail and I've missed my share..

Sorry for the late responce !
Cody and I put this ride together in just a few days notice and I had just completed my longest ride since I started riding in July the 11th 2011 an 18 mile ride from Taylor to Hutto and back just a few days before!
I've lost 36 lbs so far and have another 30 to go I'm shooting for..

After this 33 mile ride it boosted my confidence BIG time and made me want a road bike even more, Cody motivated me to start riding bike when he made his first 17 or 18 miles and thought I would like to do that also and BOY do i love this sport now I'm HOOKED..

Cody I think you did a fantastic job on the video you just didn't have alot too work with but I promise too get even more on our next ride Rocksprings too Campwood Tx or the dam there. That should be a great ride.. lest shoot for late this month or early October.. maybe someone on here would like to jooin us on this ride? Your all invited!

Cool, but I really do like the extension. Somebody mentioned a while back that a buddy use a golf club with the recorder strapped on the end used in a similar fashion. But I can't see having to carry a golf club after I'm done with the trick shots.

If you do any rides around San Angelo, let me know. I'm just starting and I go extremely slow, but it would be fun to have another rider around.
