Up to 100 Mile Challenge--September
Who is in?

I'm starting another pick your mileage challenge for the new riders. Pick your mileage goal and report here. Are you brand new to riding? How about 50 miles? Is it insufferably hot and humid? Too many long days at work? Try 75 or 100.

The participants:

Zencalm for 75
swoodwrking for 100
Wreader for 100
tjakins for 100
teon for 100
Klepto1 for 80
Allen55 for 50

Please put me down for 100 miles this month. I made my first 100 last month. (actually it was a little more than a month), and I think I can do 100 this month. If I can do more, all the better, but I don't want to commit to more.

I'm in. Put me down for 100, although I get busy and it might not happen. Heck, I'm already at 19.

Zen, I usually update my mileage every day unless I don't ride. I am on the 300 mile challenge, which I think I am not going to meet this month. This month is quiet on the 100 mile challenge as a number of new riders graduated to the 150 plus and others dropped away --next spring it will boom.

I wonder about those who started here, posting their mileage and about their rides, but then just disappear. But I am such a mother!

Good rides to you and Edith.

Thanks Finch. I rode 5/5.5 miles today. (17 + 5 = 22 miles to date)

And.....I fell off my bike on a busy "highway". It's called a highway but just seems like a big street. Lesson learned - skinny jeans and Edith don't mix. Luckily, it was a slow drop and a minivan in front of me stopped diagonally, so no other cars could pass. I hope the universe buys that soul some drinks! And glad I had gloves on. Nothing hurt, not even my ego. In fact, it just makes me laugh. if you can't laugh at yourself, life will be a heck of a lot harder.

In other news, I am bouncing around because of my improved cadence, but I love 2nd gear and I feel like I'm flying. So I'm sticking with that for now.

How are your rides going? You might not make 300, but will you make at least 100? Join our thread!

Can I join? My goal for this month is 80. I am up to 64 for the month. 57 was the most I did in a month (June), but I have been riding further and more consistently.

I missed this post! I like pedaling fast as well. Sure feels better than slogging it. I'm glad that your fall didn't do any damage. What happened?

I seem to be adding miles on again, I should get to 200 anyway, it depends on the weather.

Just did 11.38, which puts me up to 82 miles. I reached my goal for the month. If the weather holds up and I can get some rides in I can clear 90.

I put myself down for 100 miles this month, but I am probably not going to make it. I had a minor surgery on one leg, and it is still sort of black and blue, so I am taking it easy. I did add 10.6 miles today, so I might make it to 50 before the end of the month. So, I have not forgotten, I am just plugging away.
