Greetings and Salutations!

My name is Mike and I've had the cycling bug for a little over 8 months now and do think I'm going to be kicking the habit anytime soon.

My first bike was a bone stock 2006 Trek 7100 Multitrack which I loved but kept scattering the factory 700 wheels. I even tried 2 sets of 29er wheels and they only lasted a little over a month per pair. So I sold the Trek and got into my current bike a 1999 Giant Sedona with 26" wheels. I immediately upgraded the wheels to a pair of the Performance Bike (Forte) Terramax and have since put about 300 miles on it so far and all appears to be well with it.

I'd like to start upgrading the derailleurs, crank, and BB. I was thinking SRAM X5 derailleurs and trigger shifters (have grip shift now :() and a Shimano XT crankset. Any recommendations would greatly be appreciated.

I'm 301lbs and ride between 80-100 miles a week.

Can't help with the upgrades, but hello and welcome to the Addiction. :)

Welcome to the gang!

Be prepared to have in-depth discussions about every potential part swap. Some of us even like gripshifts :innocent:

Great is everything wearing out? I'd highly recommend stopping by your local bike shop and see what they have to say.
