:roflmao2:....I really pack on sunblock too. Especially arms and wrists. If I don't, I look like a freak, cashiers won't place change in my hand.:D

I don't use sunblock on my legs but I use leg cover when I can along with under layer types for the arms. On a 80 degree day, I wear arm cover when I ride in the mountains. Mostly for bugs but if i didn't....:p

Mr B: you are retired and have all the time in the world. I am stuck in a kitchen 9 or 10 hours a day :(

Believe me, has nothing to do with it. I get very dark every summer. ;)

But after posting my pic, it seems you are darker than what I first thought. :D

for a guy who doesnt ride much! :)

cyclokitty 10-07-11 06:56 PM

My sandals (I ride with sandals in the summer) left a semi-permanent tan on my feet. They won't disappear until well into February! Even in the winter I have to put sunscreen on my nose because my winter rides get enough sun to make me look like Rudolph.

Nice tan lines, guys!

Mithrandir 10-07-11 06:58 PM

My tan has been disappearing. No UV index to speak of for the last month.

This was back in mid 90's after a summer of playing softball tournaments. My BIL used to call me "Dark N Lovely".:D

......and Gina "made" me pose.:p

...:D... I'm standing in front of a clock. One of those "in thing's" of the 80's. A clock made from a piece of wood fresh of the tree.:D Maybe it was the 70's :p

Frankly, it looks more like you're face-down in a pool of your own blood - caused no doubt by a gunshot from a jealous cyclist.

I used to live in Upland. I could strip to the waist and still look like I was wearing a white T-shirt!

come on guys.... only mr b and I coughed up pictures........ lets see the cycling tans!!!!!!!!!!!

dalesclyde 10-08-11 08:59 AM

cycling tans are nothing, you guys should try playing golf sometime. Much much worse. Tho i do have a couple of cycling jerseys that fit my arms so tight that it looks like I put painters tape on my arms, the tanlines are that distinct!

chefisaac 10-08-11 09:02 AM

dale.... no pictures.... mr b wont believe it...... we will wait patiently

downtube42 10-08-11 09:16 AM

Back in the day when non-cycling shorts were short, you could spot a fellow cyclist in a crowd by the 3/4 thigh tan-line. On closer look, the tan oval on the back of their hand would confirm. Now with SPF 80, long shorts fashionable, and 1000 different styles of cycling gloves, you can't tell a cyclist from a zumba mom.

No pics here, the dog ate my usb cord.

OMG! You are so right. Great laugh for on a Monday morning.

My cycling tan is permanent. My last name ends in an "i" and my mother's side of the family is from Reggio Calabria. What's a guy going to do?

In '00 I spent months touring out west. Came back to the east coast in August and went to the beach one day. I got a lot of laughs from women when I headed towards the water with no shirt and swim trunks. I looked like on of those black & white cookies gone awry.
