Since I have a December birthday, I rode my 'to be' age on 2 Oct at the Blue Water Ramble in St Clair, MI. I rode sixty miles as my pre-6-0 celebration. Thanks to a friend who rode with me and encouraged me through the winds and up the hills! Like the OP, it is great to have set a goal and complete it!!!

I would like to ride my age, 56 miles, but I am not thrilled with riding it alone as I am pokey. I likely am going to end up having to ride 57 miles. :)

Nice! I'm 41 as well, I once did a 50mi ride, but I should start an annual tradition of having a birthday ride of my age.

I turned 49 last Sunday (the 9th) and rode my age today, on a fixed gear bike. The FG rear wheel was my birthday present-- I got the parts to build it and built it up last week. I did a breakfast ride on it this morning and when I got home I figured out that I'd ridden 47 miles.... a couple miles short of my age. So I hopped back on and cruised the neighborhood for about 4 miles, bringing the total to 51.

A friend of mine rides his age every year. This past year was a 62 mile ride for him.

You and I are pretty much in the same boat. I will be 56 in Dec. and I'm only up to 16 miles so far. But I'll be riding more than 57 come next Dec. hoping you get there as well.

I need to get in 47 miles.... It will really suck once I hit 88 though....

When I tuned 41, I did about 90 birthday rides that year. 41 is our norm weekend ride on Sat and Sun's.:D
