Hi all,
Im switching from a Brooks to try one of these. My main reason being I live in the Seattle area and I am hesitant to ride my bike with the Brooks on it in the rain.
Does the Selle have the same issue with needing protection from the rain?
Thanks much.

I just bought my third one! They are great. I've been trying to solve my seat problem for almost a year. This was the worst part of my biking experience. After about 30 miles, the pain was setting in. After some padded ones, then switching back to the Brooks Professionals for a while, I figured I had nothing to lose at this point. Unreal difference! They really do work! I can do 40 or 50 miles now with no problems. I bought the $99.00 brown leather sale ones.

The directions are very detailed and specific for set-up. (Three pages)
(I knew all this from Brooks saddles but followed it to the letter just for grins.)

(1) - Set front to rear with plum-line from kneecap to pedal axle at 90 degree forward crank position.
(2) - Used carpenter's level to set initial nose-up at 1/8th inch. (Directions say 1/8th to 1/4 inch) Later in the ride I made one nose height adjustment as it felt like I was slightly sliding forward off the front of the saddle. Seems to be about 1/4 inch up now. That was good the rest of the day, but a little tight when riding down in the drops which I think is normal. Since I ride 99% on the brake hoods, this nose setting will do for me.
(3) - Set overall saddle height as per usual standards.
(4) - Set-up initial seat surface tension three turns tighter than delivered. - After about twenty miles, I backed it off two turns. (one turn tighter than delivered) This will need to be touched-up later as the seat fully relaxes and occasionally thereafter just like a Brooks

OK, the questions about "pinch". The directions specify that this is a saddle designed to ride as a set with proper fitting shorts with "chamois" insert. Since I am a huge fan of proper shorts with padding, I had no pinch problems of any kind and honestly this is the best I have ever felt after 30 miles! I wear Canari shorts which are some of the best. For those of you who think that spandex type shorts are dorkey, they make real nice mountain bike shorts that look like regular shorts, even have pockets and the spandex padded short is built-in under the outer loose short. I bought mine at Dick's Sporting Goods.
So, if you are wearing boxers and gym trunks or going commando, maybe this is not the saddle for you.

My X didn't come with any fitting instructions, but I've read enough online to do it myself.

I can ride my MTB 15 miles now with tighty whities and standard hiking/cargo shorts in great comfort on the X. It's what I've been looking for.

I believe I heard that to save paper and go green, they are no longer shipping instructions. You can find them at
