Still riding and showing improvements

Most of my riding is offroad(fire roads or actual MTB trails)i am probably at 175 miles or so so far,but let me tell you, that offroad stuff is tough and hills suck.

My cardio is definately better my legs give out before i am really out of breath, depending on where i ride i can do as little as 9 miles some of that is walking up the hills(in the mts of upstate Sc) or as many as 26(on the coast in the Francis Marion Forest).I am very happy with how quick my cardio recovers now i just need my legs to catch up,i have tried riding 2 days in a row,not good, legs are just to tired and need a day to recover, unfortunately i can only ride on Sat,Sun or some Mondays,i am sure this has slowed my progress..

no real weight loss(5-7lbs) but the inches are going away pretty good, almost dropped a pant size. But i will tell you i feel alot better:thumb:

Just wanted to keep you updated since i know alot of people come on here all fired up and then disappear.

In the old days, pre-cadence measurements, the saying was if your legs give out first - down shift, if your lungs give out first upshift. Maybe try a smaller gear and spin a little more. Just a thought. On the other hand it seems to be working and you are enjoing it so...Just keep doing what you're doing.

Yes! Thanks for the update. You might try Long's suggestion of going to lower gears just as an experiment.

My legs are wimpy too. I am doing squats (four minutes: 20 seconds of squats, 10 seconds of rest), with some other exercises, and walking to help with muscle strength.
