So I've been battling with my weight for years, but this in February, I decided that I would go and buy a bike.
I had test ridden several models, asked lots of questions, done lots of research, and just generally obsessed with buying a bike for almost a year. This year I finally pulled the trigger.
I bought a Fuji Roubaix 1.0 with SRAM Rival. It had dinky ALX 200 wheels that weren't very trustworthy for my 290+ lb clydely frame.
On my first ride, I struggled to get 10 miles. Slowly over time it got easier and easier up until the point where the normal rides that I do weren't as much work as they were before. I was looking for new challenges so I purchased a mountain bike. The cardio and workout that I got from this was crazy. So as the story goes, I fell in love with road and mountain all in the same year.
The weight slowly came off, quickly came off, went back on, then back off again until the point where I am now. Earlier this week, I hopped on the scale to see where I was weight wise, and to my surprise, I was under 200. I was 199.4 to be precise.
I was hesitant to celebrate because I knew that I've had ups and downs. Well I have been diligent with my exercise and my diet and tracking my calories and drinking my water...I am still under 200 and have no plans on stopping until I am happy fully with how things are with my body.
For the record I am 6'0, 27, and now 197.6 down from 290.4 since the beginning of February.
I have a lot to be proud of and be thankful for in my life. I hope that throughout all of the trials and tribulations of this journey we call life and weight loss that you guys can be successful in your endeavors.
