Join me tomorrow ... please?

Hiya friends,

Long time no talk ... riding indoors doesn't seem to pose the questions/concerns that riding outdoors does, but such is life in the north.

I'm writing today to share something decidedly off topic ... some of you who are friends on Facebook have seen this already, but I wanted to share with the rest of my friends here at C/A.

Tomorrow is my late fiancee's birthday. I lost her two years ago next Saturday, but rather than marking the date of her death, I wanted to mark the date of her birth. Her life's motto was "Don't Postpone Joy" and it was a phrase that the two of us took to heart daily.

I created a "Facebook Event" called "Don't Postpone Joy Day." Nothing fancy, but tomorrow, at some point during your day, do something that brings you joy, brings joy to loved ones or even brings joy to a complete stranger.

She was an amazing woman, my best friend and an incredible mother ... and I'm honored that I got to share an all too short portion of my life with her.

Help me honor her, won't you?

Don't postpone joy.

My son and I were planning to hike tomorrow - a special time for both of us. I will keep you and your fiancee in my thoughts.

I saw the Facebook invite but didn't know the reasoning till I saw this. So glad I read it. That's a beautiful sentiment - both the credo and the gesture.

First, I'm sorry. But I think it's a beautiful way to remember her, and a wonderful invitation.

Second, I'll join you (in spirit - I'll be in a different time zone) tomorrow. I'm going snow shoeing with a friend.

+1 Myself, wife and daughter are going xMas tree picking. Your fiancee sounds like she was a terrific person!

It was a good day, even though I am just getting over being sick. I filled bird feeders. I picked up and delivered mail to the old folks in the condo. I made plans to drive one of the women in the building to the neighboring city today to do some shopping. I hung grasscloth wallpaper on one wall. Putting paste on it made it smell like damp hay. Nice but a little weird. My spouse and I made soup and played cribbage.

Thank you for the idea. I saw it on someone else's Facebook page and thought it was a great plan.

I enjoyed a beautiful day outside spectating a cyclo-x race. The sun was shining, the temp's were comfy, and the course looked tough. In the end all the competitors were smiling, as they enjoyed the day also.
