95 to 110? I use to live in the Mojave Desert area of California and routinely rode in that kind of heat...at least I could ride, now where I live in Indiana I can't ride due to the cold, the snow, and the ice. Can't wait for spring so I can stop riding this damn boring trainer.

After longing to visit your country since I can remember I have decided to do it for vacation in 2013, I have always hated snow and ice and any temperature UNDER 70F and love it so stinking hot outside you can't breathe! Can't wait to see your beautiful land and rent a bike and just take off for a few days!
I will happily trade you snow for sun!

p.s. You ever been to Lord Howe? I am planning on retiring there after selling all my stuff and going minimalist!

Hi Doug
As in lord Howe Island ? have heard of it but never been there , i tend to not like anywhere that doesn't have running water =) city boy here. In saying that it does look lovely.
To be honest we haven't had that can't breath heat yet which makes be nervous as to how cold an wet our winter is going to be . Apparently it is going to be around 80 Fahrenheit today with a breeze so should be a good day for a right .
If you do come for a holiday , do your self a favour and find every place they say you must go as a tourist and cross it off the map . Just pick a beach somewhere along the coast and relax .

yep, THAT Lord Howe! The island between you folks and the Kiwis. Only a few cars there, max speed limit is like 15 mph, only 300 tourists allowed there at one time I think...perfect. Everywhere by bike.
And I do plan on crossing off the "tourist spots", I want to sit on a beach and relax and get some good long rides in. And see your outback...by bike! (not all of it, of course)
Sounds like great weather for a ride there today...so get your butt saddled up and get going!

A good sleeping bag and tent and a gore-tex jacket reminds me how pleasurable it is to ride in Australia during "the wintah" . In Winnipeg, Canada several former colleagues ride all winter (!) and need studded tires (Schwalbe) and balaclavas and layers... Their bikes take one hell of a beating from the sand and salt. Chains are replaced every spring...
I am looking forward to another 6 or 7 week tour next July-August in WA and SA. Hopefully I'll have a bunch of tailwinds

Be careful what you wish for. I remember my 1st two Australian bicycle tours and they were "in wintah". The first one was on the Savannah Way in 2006, and yes evenings were cool around Atherton-Georgetown in July, and yes it was freezing around Hay during my 2nd trip last July, BUT...

I will trade your 110F temps, horizontal rainfall and clawing kangaroos for ice, snow shoveling and -15°C (but feels worse) anytime. Just let me know and I'll sort something out with nature. It'll take me awhile so you'll need patience. I'll throw in a mating pair of house breaking raccoons as a gift.

Id gladly trade you 25F for 100F (our 100 is also with high humidity, not like Miami, but its def worse than Arizona). All you have to do is drink water. My freaking face is freezing off, cold hurts.

I don't mind the snow. It's the -40ºC wind chill that I could do without.

Last night we had 37 degree weather, snow on the ground and it was thundering and lightening outside. A little unusual; but last year it actually was snowing while thundered and lightening was going on! I've only lived here in the snow belt for 8 years, but I've never heard of this ever happening before, and a friend I spoke to said he couldn't recall it ever happening since he's lived here in 20 some odd years, but noted it could in rare circumstances.

I would love some snow too. We haven't had a single flake of snow here in two years. It's been in the 40's and 50's every day but a couple this winter. We had a streak of 60 degree days not long ago. I have a friend who lives two hours south of us, and they get tons of snow. Snow all around us, in fact, but none here.

Not safe for work
Yesterday we had a glazing: the roads were covered in crispy ice. No ride for me. This was old a couple of weeks ago and I miss riding my bike. I think I've had a couple of rides in the past two weeks and they were errand rides so they were fun but filled with details, like "buy cat food" and "pick up parcel at post office".
Soon, my bicycle. Soon I will ride all over the neighbourhood.
