If you live or work in an area large enough to provide you witn choices, I would strongly encourage you to look around and try some different meetings until you find one with a leader who clicks with you. When that happens (and especially if you get to know and become friendly with the other attendees), it can make a big difference compared to meetings you're not wild about, and a huge difference compared to not going at all.

Welcome to the playground Terry!! You will find support and encouragement from each of us as we work at losing a few pounds and get healthier!! I agree with CraigB, if you aren't happy with your current meeting and/or leader, check our some other meetings in your area. I originally did WW 10 years ago and I lost about 40 pounds back then and I became a lifetime member. The leader I had at the time was the best one in the area. She led meetings at several different locations in the area and each of her meetings were completely full. Because of the lessons I learned 10 years ago, but I haven't completely applied, I am doing the WW program entirely online. There is something motivating about having to attend a meeting each week and being accountable for the number displayed on the scale.

imac: Congrats on this week's weight loss!!! Keep up the great work!!

I weighed in this morning and I am up .8. I'm really not sure what happened this week. I had strep about 10 days ago and I finished my antibiotics last night. I had a couple of my "weekly" points each night, which is an attempt on my part to make sure I get in my daily points. Oh well, the number is what it is this morning and all I can do is continue on the WW path and do more exercising this week!!!

Best of luck to all of you this week. I look forward to checking this forum each day and get caught up on the progress each of us are making!!

Why do you hate the meetings? Sometimes the support is the best.... at least for me!

Would love a picture of your defy. I have one too with a black brooks. Great bike and saddle!

Had my WI tonight. Not a good situation. Gained 1.6 pounds and now 300.6 Dammit!

I am one of those people who needs to figure it out and WW makes it easy. I just look back and see what I did. I ate Primos a couple of times. Love that place. Think I went a little bread crazy. Also chocolate too. I know where I went wrong. Can only learn from there. But still pissed about the 1.6 gain. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.....

And I am traveling all week too next week. History proves I have not made the best choices. I will this time

Also, my watch and rings are looser. Both my wife and I wish it would happen faster, but we are definitely on schedule.

It's darn easy to get frustrated. I know I do. I seem to break through to a new lower weight level then just get stuck there for weeks. I can't seem to find a steady weight loss week in and week out.

I am positive I work out no less than 5 days a week, and I mean serious workouts each time where I burn 800-1200 c.

Some days I want to go back to pizza lol

Someone offered me some slow roasted BBQ Pork Shoulder. Heck yes I want some but I just ate lunch. Plus thought about my gain this last WI. Said no thank you and a little.... ok big.... tear...ok tears... came down my eyes.

I weighed in this morning (I have changed my weigh-in day from Tuesday morning to Friday morning) and I am down 2.1 lbs since Tuesday. I have lost a total of 26.5 since 1/3/12 and I am a couple of pounds away from my 10%.

Tractor - Good luck with your weigh-in tomorrow morning. Please post your results!

This upcoming week is really going to be rough. I leave on Sunday and get back on Thursday for a business trip to Arizona. I am really nervous. Going with some chefs from my work and history proves that I suck at making the right food choices when traveling. It's hard enough when I am NOT traveling but throw that in along with traveling with other chefs, I am screwed. Hopefully this time will be better.

Official Weigh-In Day! This week I lost 3 pounds, for a total of 16 pounds lost over a 9 week period since I started on WW. That's an average of 1.78 pounds per week which is right on schedule. The program is working very well for me and my wife. At this rate I will hit my goal of 210 pounds in about 27 more weeks (6 months). It seems like a long time, but when you're changing your life it's really not that long of a commitment to keep. This week I have lost 1/4 of the amount I need to lose, so it's a milestone day!

I do not wear a lot of jeans or pants since I work in the kitchen but when I travel I wear a lot of dress pants. In Dec, I bought a pair that were 58 in waist. I am traveling this next week and decided to try those on. They were sooo big. Now I fit into size 50 which are still a little big but will work for my travel next week.

I feel great about this since last week was a 1.6 gain.

Tractor, do you mind telling me how tall you are and how you picked your goal weight? I am 6'5" and weighed in today at 232. I am thinking I want to get down to 210 or so, but I think I still have way too high of a fat percentage. My scale still tells me I am 25% most days (goes up and down)

Just trying to figure out what's a reasonable goal weight?

Wow 6 foot 5 inches and 232. You gotta be skinny. Can you post a pic? I am 6 foot 4 and 300. Thinking 215 is the number but I really am not sure.

I'm 6 ft 5 inches myself! There a lot of us tall folks here. I turn 59 this month, so I have the advantage of a loooooong stretch of experience to learn from. In the past, I felt and looked the best, rode my bike fastest and longest with the smallest effort, when I was at 210 lbs. This was in the early 1990s. When I weighed less, I don't think I looked healthy. But at 210 I look skinny but healthy. That's my reasoning in choosing 210. Weight Watchers online has 175 to 210 as my healthy weight range, so my goal falls at the very top of that range.

Chef, can try and get the wife to snap one...honestly I have always shied away from pics.

I just got into 38 waist jeans if that tells you anything. I am loosing weight from the extremities in. The lower sections of my legs and almost all my arms have skinnied up. The section from the chest to my knees still needs lots of work.

I don't seem to lose much at all there (which pisses me off)

Tractor, I'm 47, so I hear you about past experience. I suppose my skinniest adult size was down in the 190 range and I wore a 34 jean. Everyone told me I was too skinny, so maybe I will shoot for 210 or so

I am traveling to Arizona this week and have my WI tonight. Excited to go see a meeting out here.

Talked with my wife last night and she had her WI and lost 5.2 pounds. She is so close on losing 20% of her body weight. Wow.

I was down .4 this week. Allergies have been kickin my back side for the last 4 or 5 days, so I haven't been on the bike in a bit. I'm hoping to get a ride in tonight.

Congrats to Mrs. Chef on the 5.2!
...and to Rock for the 3.2!

Good luck tonight, Chef!

I was down 1.4 this week on my Monday Night Weigh in... I am happy I am still loosing however, I was hoping for a bigger loss with all the riding I have been doing, but, in my head I know it is better to loose it a little slower like I am doing.

Not dieting, I am changing my life, little steps at a time.

I have met one goal so far this month with the 12 rides, I am rapidly approaching my mileage goal and will crush that Friday with a 22 Mile ride. Now only goal left for the month is to bust through 300lbs. really want this one too... wanna see a 2 as a front number instead of a 3!!!
