Found a popcorn kernel in the BB.

well...had a banner month last month....I am going to play it safe and say 300 for the month. Weather permitting....also I have some business travel that is going to get in the way. But I am planning on doing a Metric Century on Feb 25th (hoping the weather will be dry?) Anyone who lives in the Northern Cali area....you might want to check out this Pre-Season ride...it is a benefit ride.

19/??? miles.

30 degrees out. Was really cold for the first 5 minutes but then I warmed up, but by the end of the ride I was frozen again. Didn't actually realize it until I got indoors and felt itchy and numb all down my legs and feet. I really can't believe I'm biking in February. Let's see how long this can go...

Short ride today, had hoped to be getting out more but a combination of icy weather and a client with urgent needs put paid to a better ride today.

Feb 03 - 4 miles

Total 4 miles

Dusted off the old Schwinn Crisscross that I have not ridden for, oh, right around 20 years or so.......................drove the wife to her exercise thing in a local park and proceeded to put 12 miles on some local trails. Need to clean and lube the derailleurs, but other than that it did great!! All I did was put some new rubber and tubes on the bike.

Managed to clock 261km (162 miles) during January, not counting the first week which I didn't ride/commute since I was on vacation. Hope to pass the 300km (186 miles) from February on.

I have a bad cold or something which I have been trying to shake for a couple weeks but which has just been getting worse, which has been slowing me down. Only 30 miles so far this month (got my wife to drive me to work 3 days in a row); and I missed a local sprint race on Saturday. Still trying for 300 miles though.

59/100 miles monthly. 123/5000 yearly.

Back in the habit after a few weeks off. Feeling better. Took a couple weeks off for a number of reasons; too cold, but mostly my ankle still hurt. That is what was driving me nuts. Been over 2 months since I hurt it now and taking 3 weeks off the bike seemed to make it hurt even more, even though I was doing almost nothing. To make matters worse my left knee started hurting as well for no apparent reason.

Finally after realising I didn't come close to hitting my goal last month I decided I needed to get back on track, so this month I started anew. The damnedest thing happened after I started biking again... my ankle and knee pain actually started going away and after the 2nd ride of the month were completely gone. I don't quite understand it, because in December every time I biked my ankle would hurt more after the bike rides. Oh well.

Today was an extremely windy day, 30mph with 50mph gusts in 35 degree weather. The first half of the ride sucked, but the second half was incredible fun. It is a bright and sunny day out so I feel good about getting out and about again. Here's hoping I'll easily hit 100 miles this month. Come March I may even feel confident enough to bump that number up to 200.

2/1/12 25.44 with the guys, along the ugly wall barring Mexico.
2/2/12 30 miles with the guys, 10 miles in the rain. Felt like a kid!
2/3 8.27 casual miles
2/4 4.23 around the park
2/5 rain
2/6 30.05 with the guys in the wind
2/7 28.13 with the guys
2/8 4.13 with about 1.5 in intervals, though going all out was kept in rather short spurts, 15 to 25 seconds. Felt not with it. Rained most of the day. I did lift weights in the motorhome.
2/9 No miles but I walked a couple of miles in the rain. That was kind of nice. If the rain keeps up my 300 mile goal is going to be tough but the valley sure is starting to green up.
2/10 Rain stopped, had a bad day, went for a short ride of 7.33
2/11 Nice day, did 25.01 alone.

162.59 for the month
