Stating to venture out / building up strength confidence for a long tour!
It's been six months since I've gotten back on the saddle (four since I last drove!) and now that I've gotten used to commuting (small distances), I'm starting to venture out past the safety zone of the city.
Even though there are quite a lot of riding groups popping up in Athens, every time I've ridden with one, they where either too slow (Sunday cyclists) or semi-pro teams where the pace was too high.
Thankfully I have a riding buddy, and when available we set out to break our distance records and pretty much match speed/stamina so no one gets tired or frustrated. I'd like to ask advice on planning and taking longer tours (50+ km) from the experts here.
