I've been a long time lurker and figured it was time to drop in and say hello. This is such a great group of people, so supportive of one and other.

Here is the obligatory picture of my bike from this morning's ride looping the lake. (odd angle makes the bars look incorrectly adjusted)

Some people just lurk. I did that for a month on a weight loss newsgroup before I found the nerve to post. I posted to an AT hiking board this afternoon and someone de-lurked four years after registering.....

Welcome anyway.

Dallas isn't far. I would enjoy joining you guys from FW for a ride someday...

I just bought this one about two weeks ago. Got it during the share the ride special Cervelo was having during January.. Had to make some quick upgrades to the RED group and the Zipps... I love it, I had a Specialized Sectur before this; night and day difference.. Love this ride.

You're going to love the RS, so comfortable but still really fast.

Apiltas 02-05-12 11:53 PM

Lurking

I think there are a lot of lurkers. I've been registered for over two years, have been reading for much longer, and I've posted, what, 6 messages?

I have a feeling there will be a BikeForums ride over in Dallas this spring. Keep an eye on the Texas forum.

Sassonian 02-06-12 02:54 AM

I will be looking to upgrade to Red in the future. This is my first bike with SRAM Components and I think they are so much more advanced than shimano. Anyway, maybe someday we will meet up if there is a Dallas group ride. I am just 80 miles south!

Gravity Aided 02-08-12 06:24 AM

I'm starting to hear a marked preference for SRAM from guys who race .
I don't race myself .
I raced myself once and got dropped.

99m6z28 02-08-12 06:12 PM

The SRAM components are super smooth and precise compared to the 105 I was use to. This is only Rival so I can only imagi e how good Red is!

Howdy mkull and welcome to the forum from another resident of the Metroplex. Very nice bike.

Is that White Rock Lake in the picture? I've ridden down there and back from Richardson a couple times with a group on Tuesday night but have never ridden the loop around the lake.

We're Neighbors. I am in Plano too.

Yup it's the lake. I've not done the ride to the lake, I drive there and loop it a couple of times. The traffic in North Dallas is a little crazy.. The people on the roads around the lake at least are pretty considerate to the bikes.

Perigee 02-08-12 08:56 PM

Another newbie Clyde. 6'-4" & 280 lbs.

bradtx 02-09-12 06:10 AM

Welcome matthewk459, For years I attended seminars in Dallas and at the end of the day I'd loop White Rock, I must have at least 100 laps and one helluva crash invested.

Brad
