Looks a bit like Mount Cashmere in front of the Stuart Range, in the Wenatchee Mountains. I'm not entirely convinced by this east/dry side of the mountains idea, but it has promise. :)

Not yet. This summer I plan on climbing Ebbetts Pass on my Bike Friday. Ebbetts is part of the Death Ride.

I also plan on climbing the long side of Kingsbury Grade.

Next week will be another mtb ride. In the summer I plan on doing some mtb'ing on the trails in Tahoe City that I used to love so much.

Sweet videos and pics! :thumb: With how steep some of those dropoffs are, I'd be a little worried to be clipped and falling to the left as well. :eek:

I have to assume you have never driven Tioga Pass. It's a very scary, very steep, narrow two lane road frequent by motorhomes and cars going way too fast... I don't even like to drive it and if you take one wrong turn; too fast etc, you be dead. I actually think bicycles are not allowed... forget the roadie stuff... way too much great mountain biking in the area instead.

LOL! When I mountain biked regularly in the early 90s, nothing was more frustrating to me than being dropped on climbs by riders who smoked marijuana. Last time I checked, inhaling any kind of smoke was not good for the lungs, and you need good lungs to climb hills, right?

Rest assured, I will never fit that stereotype of mountain bikers. I refuse to even be around any kind of secondhand smoke, let alone smoke anything myself.

Well, Photobucket was "nice" enough to send me a warning telling me that I'm 3 GB away from reaching some 10 GB monthly bandwidth limit, which I had no idea even existed. :mad: So, if the pictures suddenly become unviewable please let me know and I will create another account on another photo hosting service and move them all over there. I deleted a ton of pictures that had nothing to do with cycling or good scenery, so hopefully that will help.

Last week the owner of my favorite LBS gave me a business card and asked me to email him the link to my videos, so of course I gladly obliged. :D I wanted to make sure he got the email okay, so when I went in there yesterday to pick up a Camelbak and a big bottle of chain lube I found him and let him know about the latest mtb purchase and video, which he enjoyed. He said he loved the road ride video I posted the week before.

After watching the MTB video, he and another employee said they need to start carrying the GoPro cameras. :thumb:

I have always received good deals and breaks from them when purchasing bikes, but for some reason that didn't happen when I bought my mountain bike and all the accessories. When I mentioned that to him, he told an employee to make sure I received the team discount. That dropped the price of the chain lube from $16 to $12, and the Camelbak from $58 to $48, which is a much better deal than REI's price of $65. I got a gray and black one, not the bright yellow one you see in REI's pic.

LOL! Funny you should mention that. When I did a season of MTB racing in 1993, the owner of that same LBS made sure I got the team discount on every purchase. He also gave me a team jersey to wear in races.

When I told him what trail I planned on riding this weekend, he asked me if I was going to do a race that was coming up. I told him I didn't know if I would ever return to racing (after all, I do like to suffer on my own terms! :D).

Well, since you have experience in this sort of thing, you should get a sponsorship from these guys. If hill climbing in California is too warm for the stuff they make, you could always send it to your friend in Seattle. ;)

I beat Photobucket to the punch! I created a Flickr account and changed the links in this thread to those pics instead. No more worries about bandwidth limits. I checked my Photobucket account status again yesterday and it had changed from yellow to red, so I was getting dangerously close to that stupid limit.
