    Strava Users?? Clydesdales/Athenas Group?

Those of you who have Strava accounts are welcome to join a new club:

    Clydesdales and Athenas (BikeForums.net)

The club will let us see each other's rides and stats, and might help keep others motivated to get out and ride more. For those worried about security, you can change your account settings to truncate you ride 500ft to 2miles from your home or work.

I think it will be fun to see where other Clyde's ride and as I said before, it can help keep people motivated, especially some of us who are newer to riding!

    Enjoy!!

You're going to have to come up with a logo now. The 50+ group initiated a Strava group and use their jersey logo.

Oops. After I joined, noticed that you do have a logo. An appropriate one too.

All I've got so far is a picture of a Clydesdale running... Will have to come up with something better when I have more time.

BTW: You are making my 22minute ride with my 5yo daughter look pretty bad in the side-by-side.

I have joined the group on Strava. I don't ride as often or as far as some of you, but I will get out as often as I can. I will also ride with my kids (3 girls) from time to time, which will be fun, but it will also limit the distance ridden.

I'm starting to have trouble with all the little places that want to log my miles... I primarily use allsportsgps (trimbleoutdoors.com) and now garmin and have steered away from strava so far because I don't need to be told I'm 98th out of 98 riders up my street. Ha ha! Good idea though! I'll try it for a while and see how it goes.

I just joined. I run Strava, and Endomono to try and see what if any difference there is. So far I have had slight differences in miles.

    Strava ........ Endo
    25.1 m ...... 25.37 m (3/4)
    14.8 m ...... 14.88 m (2/28)
    11.2 m ...... 11.26 m (2/26)

I know part of the problem is Strava only goes to 1 decimal point, and endo goes to 2. I am also wondering how that last ride made a difference of roughly a quarter of a mile.

    FWIW... 11.2 vs 11.26 isn't a quarter mile difference...

No, but 25.1 to 25.37 might be. He stated : "The last ride" which would be 3/4 not 2/26. FYI

Look at the dates, 3/4 would be my last ride, not 2/26. That would have been my first ride.... 25.1 to 25.37 is 0.27 difference... So that is over a quarter of a mile.

    That is all.

As I suspected, I uploaded my ride from Sunday to Strava and on one segment, I was #393 out of 394. I'm pretty sure it's because I waited for somebody just a hair short of the top, or at least that's what I'm telling myself. I went and uploaded a ride from a month ago that covered the same territory and it wasn't that bad so maybe I'm right.

So what are the benefits of premium membership?

And what's up with people claiming to do 43 mph UP A HILL! Some of the statistics in there are laughable.

I think I might actually like the social aspect - seeing some of the other rides popping up there got me motivated to go for a spin tonight instead of working.

I just joined the group. I've really been digging Strava this past winter; great for finding new routes and segments. I've been using Wahoo Fitness to upload both my rides and runs across mutiple platforms, eg. RunKeeper, Nike+ and Strava.

The segments on Strava can certainly be a bit intimidating at first (I've found myself near the bottom of some lists as well) but ride the same route a few times and then click on "My Results". For me, seeing individual progress over time has been pretty fantastic; obviously I can feel the difference but this shows quantifiable improvement.

It's also nice that there are some downhill segments in my area, I usually do much better on those

    I've joined the bf group

    Okay... dumb question here...

I have Strava for iPhone, and I joined the group. Logged in with Facebook account just like I do on my iPhone. How do I upload rides to the group? I admit I've had it for a while, but haven't really used it much...

    Cosmo,

When you upload rides to Strava, they just show in the group... You don't have to add them separately.
