Just saw Iron Chef and callmeclemens. They drove out after a nice 37 mile ride. We had a nice stroll and conversation in the gardens by the side of the hospital.

There was a little surprise for all of us:

Iron Chef is third from the left, and I'm fourth. This photo is from August 2011. Now, six months later, I'm less than an inch shorter than Iron Chef.

And now wondering if his bike frames are all too small for me.

You are looking good Neil. I am proud of you for having the surgery. And was amazed when you stood up. You are so tall now.

Yes, folks, I can stand now, provided I have something like a table to support myself with.

James and I were lusting over the primo sandwiches during the drive. Thought there might not have been a third sandwich!

Yeah, It as great seeing you Neil, and it was impressive you standing up, I didn't expect it one bit.

And Yes Isaac, the fact those Three Hoagies made it there intact is without a doubt a Clydesdale Miracle.

I think that's a fair trade-off. Next time you get a spam email promising you another three inches, you can say you already gained it.

They are pounding me with fluids and Tylenol. Fever broke and is now down to 101.3; blood cultures are not back yet but the urine sample showed no infection.

Ugh dude. Get better. It would be bad for a complication to derail your recovery.

Good to know you're at least moving in the right direction. Better to delay your discharge than have to be readmitted later. Seriously, losing a day or two here is so much better than losing a week or two down the line.

OK, the person who was picking me up and staying with me a couple of days isn't able to. I need a trip home, someone to pick up perscriptiions, and someone to look in on me at times on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
