Login to endomoto, select workouts up top, click on the workout in question.

Now in the graph below the map you can move your mouse over the timeline and watch your dot on the tracked map move with time. Find the exact destination; note the time.

Once you have that click edit under the workout stats on right and change the time.

Not so difficult.

I just did my first ride for May. It shows up in my workouts on Endomondo, but not in the May challege. By my name (and every one else) I see "(No applicable workouts)"

The time it started may have an effect on whether or not your ride shows up. I posted a couple comments about it on the April Challenge because it closed 24 hours before the day was over. The May challenge started 15 hours after the day started.

Nothing like not getting Credit for a 20 mile ride!

Gary

Did you list it as cycling, sport ?

gforeman 05-02-12 03:02 PM

Yes, Cycling Sport.

I went in and manually changed the time to start at 6:00 PM and now it's showing up. Go figure! I could have swore the day starts at 12:00 AM :)

SoapPeddler 05-03-12 06:31 PM

The problem was my fault. I set a start date, but not a start time, so Endomondo used the start time of 15:24. I've changed the start time to 12:01 am. Your May 1 workouts should show up now.

chaapa 05-05-12 07:49 AM

My workouts are not showing up in the challenge. My phone switches the workouts to mountain biking but I later edited them back to cycling, sport. Any ideas?

Are your workouts showing up now chaapa?

Tell me about it. But my muscles don't know the difference.

chaapa 05-07-12 06:23 PM

Yes! This is going to be fun!

mprelaw 05-07-12 07:48 PM

One thing I've learned is to make sure that you have a GPS signal before you hit "start". Otherwise, your ride will end up 0:00. Lost a nice 37 mile jaunt on Saturday that way.

I made that mistake exactly once. The sting of losing a workout was enough to teach me not to make that mistake again.

By the way, there is still room for four Clydesdales on the team.

chaapa is my wife, by way of introducing her to the forum.

At 157 pounds, I don't qualify as a Clyde any more, and with some self-discipline, hopefully never will again.

chaapa 05-30-12 11:31 AM

Getting a little discourage with this. I have lost a few rides this month because it would seem that my phone closes Endomondo when I slip it into my pocket. I have had several rides that apparently were only a few seconds long when in fact they were over an hour and 14 miles long. Are you guys riding with your GPS in your pockets or do you mount them on your bikes in order to keep an eye on them?

gforeman 05-30-12 12:00 PM

Do we have a JUNE started yet?

avance 05-30-12 12:00 PM

I run strava and endomondo apps in my pocket while riding. I make sure to close my screens before putting in my phone in pocket.

chaapa 05-31-12 07:39 AM

This is probably the problem. I have never discovered how to close my screen. It has lead to many embarrassing "pocket calls". I have an LG from Sprint. It was their free offering a while back. I have just chalked up some of my difficulties to having a cheap phone.

Amesja 05-31-12 07:50 AM

On any iPhone you simply press the power button on the top to close the screen and lock it. On every Android phone I've ever seen this is also the case.

I don't know about the silly windows joke of a smartphone or crackberries but they probably have some similar feature.

Sometimes it is necessary to wait a second or two before putting the phone in your pocket to make sure the screen lock activates and a successive push of the power button doesn't turn the phone back on without the screen lock activated (and allow butt-dialing or other controls to be pushed while in your pocket) Also, not putting the phone in your pocket power-button first helps a lot with this too.

Personally, I just hit the power button, count to three, and then put it into my pocket. That always works.

With the endomondo or other GPS apps the accuracy of the readings is effected by keeping the phone in the pocket. I have a RAM mount for it on my road bike and it does a very good job as far as accuracy. On my other bikes, when I keep it in a pocket, the GPS thinks I am cutting corners and the track does not stay on the roads. Endomondo does not have a "snap to grid" or many other features that help fix these problems later -it's kind of cheezy, even with the paid version. But other systems have a button that will "snap" the route to the road grid and solve some of those problems although the speeds recorded may not be very accurate and fluctuate more than in reality.

gforeman 05-31-12 07:56 AM

All you guys in the Challenge, thanks for pushing me :thumb:

My personal best for one month (with today left), I have hit 520 miles. Not bad for a guy who used to weigh 320 lbs, and is 55 years old in two weeks :)

I feel a little silly now that the solution was so easy. Thank you!

Amesja 06-01-12 05:44 PM

It took me a little while to figure out the "count to three" thing when I went from an iPhone to the Android. The Android wouldn't lock as fast and I was constantly butt-dialing friends and family and sometimes even butt-texting them (if I had left my texting app on top and the first thing that opened back up when I put the phone back into my pocket power-button first and it turned back on.)

My friends would say, "what does wlwliiiiiiieieiieiiiwuyydiiidiiddddddddddddddd mean?"

It's a learning curve ;)

I've joined July, thanks.
If I create a workout manually, does it show up? The GPS killed my battery on my old phone, so I've never used one of these apps before. I can see that I can manually enter workouts though.

I think as long as you enter time and mileage it should still register. That way it knows your pace and how many calories were burned.
