Clydes on Carbon Fiber

OK, so if you see a carbon fiber bike leaned up against a wall at a rest stop, be sure it doesn't belong to a clyde before lean your steal bike up against the derailleur side of his carbon fiber bike cause he's going to shout at you!

Happened to me on Sunday. Chilling at the stop when some dude rolls up and leans his bike up against my strategically placed up against the wall bike.

I see the dude lean his bike on mine so I jump up then shout:

Beanz~ DON'T LEAN YOUR BIKE UP AGAINST MINE. ESPECIALLY ON THE REAR DERAILLEUR!!

Dude~ Oh, I'm sorry , I didn't see it.

Beanz~ You didn't see my bike there?

Dude~ No. * takes bike and walks away like the heel that he is*

Don't......DO IT!

Nah, Beanz has a Trek. Obviously it looks like wall paper.

But seriously, who does that? I don't care WHAT your bike is made of. Give him the cinzano treatment, assuming you don't use CO2 cartridges.

Speaking of bikes, got my slightly larger cassette and slightly smaller crank chainring installed, I think I"m ready for some hill climbing. Smallest gear is now a 36/28, which should be sufficient. I didn't even use it today on my test hill.

My bike club leans bikes up together during breakfast stops (6 bikes deep) and we use a long cable to lock the stacks of bikes all together.
Afterwards, the speed or cadence sensors on my bike end up "adjusted" too far from the magnets so I either have to make a "technology" stop or do without my computer for the rest of the ride.
It can't just be my bike that people are careless with, ??? wtf. Nobody else seems to have an issue.

Invariably my bike ends up next to a 50# beater with its pedals stuck into my c/f wheel spokes.

People! I don't care what you ride, but have some respect for people who take good care of their stuff.

Listen - I'm riding a previously loved, 2007 vintage specialized roubaix. It's yoosed. I don't care, it's my baby. Built it up from scratch my own special self. You mess with it and you better be a bad-ass because I won't take it well.

I think I would go ballistic if someone leaned their bike up against mine like that. this thread makes me think of the "don't sit on another persons motorcycle w/o permission" rule....

OK, but tell me you're not agreeing on the rest of it because, well, I don't want to know.

But I digress - Mr. Beanz' bike is very sharp and deserves not to be messed with.

I'm not one of those "don't derail my thread" people. The more posts, the more comments, the more entertainment, that's why I am here, it certainly aint for the money!

Zactly! Heck, my 98 Cannondale is in good shape and I get just as PO'd if some monkey touches it.
