Again with the wind!
Tuesday night training ride from the shop - this time with an 16 mph wind out of the west-northwest. I found myself, kind of unexpectedly, at the front shortly after the start, and pulling for about 3 miles or so at around 19 mph with the wind coming from about 10 o-clock. And I paid for it later, when I got shelled off the back at about the 12 mile point when things heated up even more. It really got ugly when we turned to the west for a couple of miles and I lost serious ground. Ended up coming in with 2 other riders, the last from our group, to finish the 26 miles at an average of 17.5.
I'm really looking forward to these rides a little later in the season when the wind won't be so bad. Or so the cruise director promised anyway.

Ugh come to south FL this time of the year. The 16 mph wind would be welcomed vs the 30+mph winds. I ride along the ocean and depending on the mangrove rows and open road and high rise condos there are wind tunnels everywhere. It's always in your face it seems.

Good ride Craig! 17.5 is a great average for that distance.
