Nice! Strava sure needs a wind value too. That would show another factor in difficulty on rides.:D

I forgot to add the good news...this was a poker run type ride...we paid 100 bucks to get us in, and won first and second with our hands. First was a 100 gift card to a hi end steak house, and second was a 20 dollar gift card, plus a quart of sierra pale ale, plus a Sierra pale ale t shirt....so for 100 bucks we each got a ride thirst plus all the other stiff listed and we supported the local build a bike tral fund

Wow, talk about making out! :D

Congratulations on completing a tough ride!

Well done. I'd take a hill over a headwind any day.

Nice job! That's a good average speed for that much climbing too!

Just curious, those that say 5k over 63 miles isn't too bad; how much do you weigh and how much experience do you have?

190'ish from 270 when I jumped on a bike for the first time in 30+ years

I'm 400lb and just hit my first cycling anniversary. Did 1k over 30 miles last week, and couldn't make it up one of the climbs, and ended up hurting my back enough to keep me off the bike for 6 days. I'm trying real hard to train for an event in September, which is two days of 50 mile rides, 3k climbing each.

Your 100 miles and 6K of climbing is an average of 60' / mile. While I don't consider it much just like saddles not everyone fits the same.
I rode with Paisan yesterday in a Metric (Garrett Co Grand Fondo The "Masochistic Metric") that had 8327' of climbing (132' / mile) .
Was it particularly difficult? Not for me but I saw a lot(!) of folks 'cross training' their bikes up the hills so for some they would give you a different answer. Were there steep parts - you bet;
There were climbs that went on forever it seems like and then some that had some 20% sections that were - smack you in the face and let you move along

I seriously don't think I can do it at this point, if last week is any indication.

I can tell you from my competitive archery days that a defeatist mindset means that you won't finish.
I do know this and can say it without fear of successful contradiction...

If you don't try then you won't finish.

As noted above, you may not think it's realistic but we're all different. You have to decide if you can do the ride.
A year ago I told folks that would say get on a bike and go 100 miles that is not realistic. Today I don't have that attitude and will jump on the bike and go 50 at the drop of the hat.
