"I stuck my hand into a bucket of bleach"
Summer is at its apex, which means cycling tans are also peaking. Everyone keeps asking me what the hell I did to my hands, so I tell them "I got bored, so I stuck my hand into a bucket of bleach".
I like to see how long I can run with that story before they call BS.

I have a whole bunch of Rule #7 going on myself. Even tan lines on my bald head! Woohoo.

I have a SHARP tan line on my upper arms (I tend to wear the same jersey on long rides) and same with my thigh tan line.
My hands seem to avoid that issue though - I'm out in the sun enough without gloves on that it doesn't seem to leave me with a tan line.
That's a sharp look though - I think you should stick with it.

I went hiking the other day and got a pretty bad sunburn on my face. Now it's all peeling and I look like a bath salt zombie ate my face! But I also have tan lines from my bike gloves!

Same thing here. Where my cycling clothes stop the tan is deep. Where its covered... total opposite. Looks odd to say the least. Though I have tanned fingers and white hands as I wear fingerless motorcycle gloves.

I just barely tan. I'm not sure what the deal is, I'm just very white. After a month I have a small hint of a sock/short tan line.

Jeez folks, get some sunblock.
As a mighty whitey Caucasoid, I would be scorched purple without proper sunblock on my arms, face and neck.
