Inspired by the strangest thing you've carried.

A few weeks ago I was near an airport and for about a quarter mile of road, around a corner and on another 1/8th of a mile I saw what looked like red co2 cartridges all over the shoulder. Hundreds of them. This is out in farm country.

I kind of wish I picked one up. No idea what they were, but they were so bright red... Crazy.

I was on a cross country trip with a friend and we were in some tiny town in Iowa - took a wrong turn and ended up at a dead end road where we saw an ICBM being lowered into a silo.

I seen a pair of womens underwear in the color of black hanging on one of the bridge side rails on my local rail trail once. Maybe they had gone swimming or something like that & forgot their underwear.. I don't know, they could have been still under the bridge in the creek waiting for me to take off so they could retrieve their shorts ..I have a photo somewhere..but i can't find it.

I was on a night ride up through a neighborhood (a decent one so I thought) approaching a car parked on the side in front of a house. As I approached a girl jumped out of the car, pretty dark so she didn't see me coming. She was about 19 years old, totally nude. I guess she must have jumping form the front to the back seat. She got out on the driver's side right as I arrived. She saw me then placed her hand over her bewbs, what she could and the other over her (insert word here) then humbly said, "oh I'm sorry".

All I could say was" that is quite alright!"

cycling through a park on my morning commute at about 5am, very very dark, had my lights but could only see in the beam when suddenly a man? ran across my path and looked to have camo or something whilst screaming "walalalalala"

This wasn't on a ride but rather in a 4wheel....but really weird none the less.

When I lived in Richmond, there was a small farm on the outskirts where the owners kept all kinds of odd critters...llamas, emu's, ostrich, and these little Pygmy goats. The goats were in a separate field and there was one lone tree in the fenced in area. As I drove by I noticed one goat had jumped up on the back of the other goat,I mean standing with all four legs on the back of the other goat, eating leaves off that tree. I almost ran the truck into the fence looking. Weirdest thing I ever saw.

Last week on the local MUP there was an Owl sitting right in the middle not moving. I stopped thinking it was dead but it was upright with eyes closed. Got closer eyes opened (must have woke it up) and it just took it.

I think so far, the weirdest thing I have seen is an old oil tank (oil burning furnace type) Painted like a cow with a metal 5 gallon milk container head and a straw hat on a front lawn....

back when I was racing, there was a strange incident where the entire field almost ran over a blind man. The race was being held in little tokyo - downtown la.. The field is coming down the home stretch.. all of a sudden an old man starts walking across the road.. The announcer starts telling the guy to get off the road and then he sees the white cane.. All of a sudden he starts screaming BLIND MAN ON THE COURSE into the pa.. It was one of those "it sounded like he said blind man on the course".. The field parted like the red sea around this guy. My friends told me he stopped dead in his tracks - did a double take and then kept on walking..

So Blind Man on a criterium course..

I'm new to the forum, but I had to chime in on this thread. I don't remember if I was on my bike or not, but I found this shiny critter along a city street. Never did figure out where it was going or what it was for but it sure was shiny!

I'm from Portland so I don't even know where to start. It seems everyday there's always something weird. Probably one of them is someone dressed up in a Little Caesars mascot costume riding a $2-3,000 triathlon bike and saying "pizza pizza" as I gave him a head nod passing by.

This goes back a few years...

My wife and I were riding one of our local forest preserve paths, and we were coming up behind a gentleman who was walking what we thought was his dog. As we got closer, it looked like a rather plump, blacked haired dog, but as we passed I noticed it was actually a pig. As I did a double take, he said to us, "Yep, she's a pig."

LOL, I guess he had gotten that reaction more than once.

I saw a guy on a fancy road bike in full clown get up. I'm pretty sure he had clipless clown shoes. He passed me going up a hill like he was riding on the flat. This was pretty much the middle of no where. I have no idea what that was abtou.

I got my R3 almost a year ago, and took it out for as long a ride as I had time for that evening. When I was regrettably starting to head home, I decided to roll through one of my favorite parks. That's when I got hit in the face by a flying bird. Right now, it's posting on some forum about how it was minding its own business flying through Gas Works when this clumsy human almost knocked it out of the sky!

So, bike path in Boston last year. Passed a woman pedaling the other direction and almost crashed into the bushes. She had a fast food medium sized soda stuck between her ample cleavage. After taking a sip from her straw, lifted her head and smiled at me. That's one way to cool down on a hot ride.

Near the end of the cross country portion of a 4 month tour I encountered a guy who had been picking up kids toys he had found on the road while crossing the country and attaching them to his bike. He also had a large, plastic jug of iced tea tied to his bike. Strange dude.

In Waterton Village, AB, during a tour, we watched with amusement as a woman in the town campsite got harrassed by a member of the town's deer population. She was walking her dog. The deer kept following her. She would stop, waiver her arm and scream at it to go away, but it kept coming. Completely unphased by the dog. We figured the deer thought her hand motion meant she was going to through it food. She finally made it to her RV and went inside.
