I think that I have created a monster!

I wonder if there was a point when Dr. Frankenstein realized he had created a monster. Today was that point for me. I slept in the this morning, and when I got up, I walked out the door to find Mrs. Pumper in her full biking attire. Her first words were, " What took you so long, I was about to leave without you." So, I rushed to get a bowl of cold cereal down, and away we went. She did 6.1 miles, but more impressively, did 365 feet of climbing and a top speed of 26mph. All of which were personal best for her. The second thing that surprised me was at the top of the longest hill, she said was getting to have a love/hate relationship with the hills. Yes, she is transforming into a Hill Pumping Monster

That's very cool!

My wife and I went out for another 6.5 mile ride last night. She picked the route (a MUP). It was much more difficult a route than the one I took us out on the other day (very flat). She was beat at the end of the ride, but she had a great time.

I think this is going to be fun!

My wife has a beach cruiser that she rides once or twice a month "just for fun".
She suggested we ride to the park last night to watch fireworks, avoiding all the car traffic and parking issues.

What a great idea! I'm so glad that she is not just supportive of my cycling, but dabbling with it herself.
I'm not expecting that she will embrace the obsession anytime soon (not likely to be climbing hills or heading out on 25 milers),
but she is very supportive and participates at a level that is comfortable for her.

Wow, you guys are harsh!!! If it is any consolation, I normally don't sleep in, but in this case I did not sleep well that night. Mrs. Pumper forgave me, and that is all that matters. So THERE!!!

Hold on, aren't you building a new bike now. If you want a Ti bike, here is your solution.

we are not being harsh, just pointing out that in a few weeks time mrs. hill pumper will start having to sandbag so your ego wont get crushed.

soon she will, after a short "warm up" ride with you, she will secretly sneak off to ride with faster non sleeping in folks.

Ok, ok, you caught me sort of...but my cross check was WAY cheaper than the magic Ti bikes....

And you have already seen me post about my wife. If I charged a 3000 dollar bike, first she would beat me, then she would kill me, then spend the insurance money trying to forget me.

There will be no bike purchased on visa unless I can pay it off that month lol.
