I'm at 3,400 feet so far, so I'll go in for 600 miles and 20,000 feet.

Chalk me up for 10,000 ft... I have a flat century this month so my focus is on miles more than altitude but I'm at 5,545 feet already in 92 miles of riding so i'm probably sandbagging a little.

I'll try for 15,000'. Already have about 5,000', but I've got some travel which really messes up my riding.

8/25 - total fail. I will make 10,000' with a short ride today, but headed out on business travel which will make a total of 10 days this month away from home (with no riding). Still, better than nothing.

Actually, I made a comment in the mileage thread, about there not being an elevation thread, so IBOHUNT created this thread. And last month, I ended up 1,000' short of my elevation goal of only 7,000'.

I am going for 30K this month. I hit my 20K last month without riding two weeks. I have almost 5000 so far this month. I plan to train in the mountains as hard as I can this month, to prepare for the fall centuries I want to ride. As usual I will only post results at the end of the month...too much work posting to garmin connect, strava, and training peaks as it is.

Thanks Chris.
Chef - I'll post my gain and mileage when I can find my phone. I know the gain was just a bit(!) over 6,000 this past weekend.

I don't keep a running total, but this coming Sunday I am going to do a ride that is 4,400'. Guesstimating that I did 3,000' total this Sat. and Sun.

In a couple of weeks I am going to take a shot at the 100K course of d2r2. 7,900' on that one. The 180K course has 15,900'.

These climbing threads have been a real encouragement to add hills into my regular routes.
I really appreciate the challenge and accountability.
I'll sign up for 15,000' for August and post results weekly.

3 rides so far this month.

MTD = 2,941' (19% of 15,000' goal)

Oh you'll beat me in mileage this month. I probably won't be ridding any after the 17th.
Feel good after that century. Took yesterday off and I'll probably just get on the cross bike and do some flat C&O Canal ridding this evening to get the legs spun up for this weekends century.

If you climbed it unassisted by a motor it counts IMO!

You're only accountable to yourself, so you do whatever you want to. Personally, I have separate tallies - one for biking, one for walking/hiking. Strava does a nice job at separating them.

Well, you can put me down for 6,000 bike feet, but it sounds questionable whether I get credit for the 4,300 feet of elevation I gained while backpacking this weekend. With a ~50 pound pack!

We don't want to hear about no stinking hiking! (ptooey). Put 'em both down, hiking up mountains is hard work.

As for me, took a little spin around the neighborhood today because it was damn bloody hot and broke 6k

100.4 miles, 6,263 feet for the month so far. I'll hit 3k on my century next weekend, which will give me the 10k I'm looking for (it's a pretty flat century)
